Ya every 6-9 months and they will still add live content every now and then and expecially on holidays.

Because of GW structure they do not need nearly as much bandwidth as other games reducing alot of the cost associated with MMO's and most probably will sell more copies cuz of the no fee so thats where they are getting their money from.

Just try the World Preview Event for 3 days and see if you like it or not.

During E3 when they did a similar thing over 200 k accounts were made so u can imagine wats gonna happend.

Here is a link with the info for World Preview Event.

Also here is a prview from Yahoo Domain with a  VIDEO  CLIP   but the resolution on the clip is not too great so multyply the graphics their by 10 and thats GW :D

Sorry to hear that. They have lowered their expectations since I last checked them out.

This means Guild Wars will not have enough content (quests) to keep a person playing continuously. He or she will play about a month or two and then quit until the next update. So,  Guild Wars will be nothing more than a good secondary game.

Well...the play nice policy cant be handled much by GMs alone.  It was mostly handled by the players.  Their players pool change.  Hey, I aint playing anymore!  *grin*  The GM support, I am pretty sure, always remain in the same ratio toward the number of subscriptions.  The *ambiance* in the bigger guilds is spreading more and more, this is all, players dont care to dampen it anymore.   Raiders as a whole never play nice ever, they dont care for been nice, the raiding must work.  image  (some raiders are very nice players, but overall, in average, raiders are less playing nice then soloers or groupers would)

I recall noobs thanking me for just been in the zone, because nobody train them while I was close...I c3 them, hug them and do my stuff!  I have a big yap and nobody want to see my posts ranting(in frenglish) on how mean this or that guild was...I recall big guils wiping whole zones(releasing a mob to strong knowing the noobs will win aggro, moving this or that), then rezing them and looking kinds and receiving thanks, doing it until it was nearly empty, then they start the raid in say zone...Instancing is a blessing honestly!

Like all other says, PvP is unlikely to be nice at all in EQ2, and if it turn nice it will be at a much later point.

OakStead there are ppl that have been in the Alpha for over a year and haven't got bored of it yet cuz of the sheer value PvP that GW has. With Guild based PvP , Normal Arena PvP , Mission Based Type PvP and not to mention Rankings will keep u playing for a long time.

Not to mention NPC quest which u can get and the Many Hunting Grounds Areas to explore either solo or with a Group.

This is gonna be a great game this is Free anyway , So even if their is a slight chance u do get bored ur not gonna miss anything except live events until the expansions come out. Unlike other games that require u to keep paying to maintain ur acc.

Better yet what do u have to loose by trying it during the World Preview Event in OCT , nothing.

You don't know what ur saying but im not surprised cuz this not a GW forum. But at least u were right about the fact that with no monthly fee there is no real quiting cuz u can go back any time u want and don't have to keep paying monthly to maintain ur account.

Actually for PvP, the only big games in the near future is WoW and Guild Wars(looks great). Dark and Light is going to have a small population(not the DAoC pop) and one big server thats going to be down alot. With Vanguard(microsoft's baby), you'll be waiting till sometime in late 2005 or 2006 at the earliest.

Well, as stated before the downtime will be slim-to-none.

And it won't have the DAoC pop? Why not? The same people who advertised DAoC are going to be advertising DnL(link is somewhere in DnL forums).

And to the original poster, if you want PvP, look towards other games like DnL or Darkfall, which have been built from the ground up to include PvP.

i used 2 play star wars galaxies and although never won lol enjoyed pvp i think they should bring it onto everquest because it would be very interesting and gives people a chance to practice fighting skills with theyre friends.

also its is a good way of taking your anger out on people u dislike so i vote 4 pvp on everquest 2

There is no way a online only buy will sell as well as DAoC. Its going to compete against 10 other mmorpgs- EQ2, WoW, GW, Vanguard and others. Just cause the same people are puttting up so ads, doesnt mean it will sell nearly as well. Daoc sold in a peroid of drought- no so with DnL.

They never said they won't distribute it in stores after a few weeks/months from the launch?

Well i think GW has a good chance to sell good since it has the advantage of not having a monthly fee.
