I don't know what you guys are all taking about, obviosly the ps2 version is better. And it lags less on PS2, because you don't need a good graphic card to play it. And you also get the HDD, in which you can use for other games.
as long as you dont have a dell, or a hp, or a compaq, or anything with onboard video, or anything you bought at walmart, this game will run fine on a computer that costs 300$ this game will run fine on a geforce 2 mx card. but a geforce 4 ti card costs less then 80$ now. video money is no problem with this game... you can make enough in 5 days at mcdonalds to buy this game, and a killer computer, as long as its no package computer. ps2 will be outdated really soon, the pc wont be outdated for at least 10 more years
for all you poeple who say its better to have ps2 because "i can sit on my couch and relax" you don't have to have a ps2 for that. my computer is next to my tv so i just get an S-Video cable (only about $8 or cheaper) and connect the two, then I set my desktop to be on my TV... there ya go i can now sit on my couch and play ffxi without a ps2, and hey I have an extra monitor that i can use for looking up game info or watch a movie while I am waiting for a party. This whole ps2 is better, no wait pc is better thing is pointless, both are good in their own right, and it all depends on the person really. example, joe shmoe has a pc version of ffxi. He has a crappy computer and a crappy graphics card, so he has to go out and buy better ones making it cost a lot. Joe shmoe 2 has a pc version also, but he already has a really good computer and really good graphics card, so he doesn't have to go out and buy anything else so it is cheap for him. Joe shmoe 3 has a ps2 and doesnt have any of the networking equipment and such to run ffxi, so he has to go out and buy them making it really expensive. Joe shmoe 4 has a ps2 version and has all the networking stuff already, so he doesn't have to go out and buy anything, so it's cheaper for him. See it all depends on the person, same goes for the whole sitting on the couh thing too, i just didnt want to go through all that again lol.
