9000+ lagspikes - solution

This is not due to game mecanics, it is usually due to using a wireless network. I have a D-Link rauter, Vista (which auto-updates) and experienced huge lag spikes (9000+ in AoC) on regular basis. The thing is that the new Vista drivers (the old ones worked fine) are bugged, every 3-5 min or so Vista performs a scan for other wireless networks which creates these huge lagg spikes. You can turn this of in the reg but it will not stop the prob completely. However you can solve this by going to the device manager and right click on your wireless card and rollback the drivers so that you get the driver that came with vista before updating (which works fine). This solved the problem for me.

Hope it helps!

have gooten those lagspikes a few times too and i'm not on wireless, and they seem to happen form time to time to everyone that plays aoc so i guess its a server problem.

it's been no big problem for me as i only rarely got them till now but some others had more troubles with them so its definitely a thing that funcom has to investigate and fix as soon as possible.
