Proof that it takes skill to own in this game

lvl 49 guardian vs a lvl 49 guardian

One COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED the other. Unless he had just overwhelmingly good equipment.. would you consider this good evidence that actual skill in AoC, especially at higher lvls, is very important?

Thats not skill. Thats a keyboard with macros. Look at the keys lighting up. Looks macroed to me.

i just don't see them doing all those combos on a caster class where caster is in total control because of all the combos that takes time to do.

    @ maddyn

Are you being serious? You press keyboard buttons to "light those up".

Yes, it takes skill to press the buttons in the right combination, and I agree, I doubt gear was the deciding factor.

Nah, he's using the mouse for combo's and abilities and using the keyboard for the normal swings, that's why they are lighting up, he's mashing 1,1,1,3,3,3 etc.

Because he staying still, rather than jumping and strafing like a tard (aka WoW) he can focus on what to use and when.

Check it out. You make macros that do the same thing with one button push. Im not saying its impossible for him to do that, but the lighting of the buttons looks very consistant between pulses. Most of your high ranked PVP guilds actually require you have a keyboard that is capable of doing macros.  Yet anohter reason why PVP sucks. Gankers and macros remove all skill.

His mouse is hitting the buttons for the combos dude ?

I use macros for my PS2 controllers while playing and I dont have to use the mouse to click speical attacks .. I click a speical attack and it performs the action with 1 button press.

    Does it remove skill ?

Well it removes the button mashing and lets me focus on other skills ...

like moving, dodging , blocking etc .

This guy must be using potions or something ?

I have this set up on my controler

I use button 1 2 3 even if the combo is on cool down because they still activate 123

all fully programmable on PS2 controller

    Button      keys    combo

    1            41        guard

    2            72         slam

    3           63        arc

    4           52       wound

    5           83        sweep

  • Oblivion has a lot in comon in regard to the fighting system. Manual hitting, manual blocking, manual strafting, manual charging, manual dodging and so on. And tbh, after fighting more than an hour in Oblivion I gave up OR because of it getting boring, OR because of my hands hurting so bad I was screaming for auto attack.
