Ok so i have a more than qualified system to run AoC. So i was crashing earlier and i researched thought it was a sound problem got a sound card. Then after install i turn it on and now for some reason its runs fine for a min to 5 min then it stutters and i get amazingly strange graphical errors. Like textures all in diffrent places and what not. Then if sometimes after that initial stutter it hard freezes sometimes and i have to reboot. I am at a loss anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone have any ideas? Im starting to think my graphics card is messed up.... man this sucks
Well, your graphics card could be overheating, hence it works fine at first, then starts messing up after 1-5 minutes. Make sure all fans are clean out and turning in the box, sometimes you'd be amazed at the amount of dust they can accumulate.

Try opening the simpleconfig.exe from the Conan folder and running the verify and repair process to see if you have any corrupt files.
Also try turning the option in audio for master sound I think it is, OFF. (it has a bracket saying about system crashes next to it)

i'd say to DL the latest vid card driver @ nvidia site and reinstall it... don't forget to remove the old driver first, some DLLs might keep the same and mess up at some point.
If doesn't works... hard call, try the graphic card on another puter and see how it goes... try using Sisoft Sandra for benchmark test and stress on your puter with your graphic card on... this can give you a good overview.
If it does'n't work at all, get any new versoin of Linux, on the first instalation disk you can perform a hardware test that will check everything on your puter... will alert at any error... note that you won't need to format the HD at any point, you can run this test for free w/o risk.
Hope it works.
I cleaned out my cards earlier...wasnt much dust. I have a monitoring device.... for temp doesnt seem to be hot.....
by the way that monitoring device is speed fan....
bump? any ideas and is there anyway to see if its my Video cards? any help iss appreciated
There's another poster on mmorpg.com posting that there are a lot of people having this problem since Sunday's patch. He also mentioned that it's affecting people with 8800 GTS and 880 GTX cards. Coincedence? *shrug* But something like this happened with me in WoW - my card stopped working properly, so I had to switch to another type of card - turns out the patch that Blizzard had included would cause .dlls to run unstably from my type of card. Switched to an ATI and everything was fine.
Now I have an 8800 GTS and I'm wondering if I should even install this game >.<

I have heard that Nvidia has a beta driver file out that could have some fixes for the 8800 specific to Conan. But, It may have gone live since and then you would have it already.

Hmm thanks ffor the info and or trying to help... but i am at a loss on what to do? any one have any ideas? downgrade driver? i just dont know..... once again thanks for trying to help me...
I have an 8800 and im not having any problems. I'm also not computer savvy enough to really help you out. I did hit 140 fps yesterday in the black castle and seem to have even less problems than before. I have not gone out of my way to update any drivers on my graphics card but that doesn't mean there wasn't a popup that i clicked to do it. Not sure if it helps, but I know when i'm having problems i want any and all info i can get.
well after that last post i have no clue what to do if he has one and his has no problems then im lost.... dont know what to try....
maybe ill try a previous driver...? ill try that i guess
well it just happned with world of warcraft as well im testing out games to see. It stuttered then i got wierd textures all over everything. I check temp and it didnt seem high at all...... im not sure what s going on.
i downgraded to latest 174 ones and havent had a crash since, good luck!!
