I do not know the world of WH, but from what i see there are only one ( And ugly ) pet class 
Why is that. Will there not be any more classes. ?

Beside that i like to know, WILL the shield tanks stand a chance to casters ?
Or will it be the same as allways, that the shield tanks are yber in pve, and target / rvr colecter in rvr. ?

ANd how will - melee defence, and magic defence work in the game ?

There is going to be a second pet class (for the high elves) and both the High Elves and Dark elves have Anti-magic tanks.

No, there will only be one. Peopel suspect the highelves will have a pet class, but that doesn't make sense. The Squig herder is the greenskins answer to the other's wizard and mage classes. They distance guys; however the only class left for high elves is the Melee class, so if anyone thinks there is going to be a pet class for the high elves theya re on crack, although I wish there would be...point blank NO.

actually it makes perfect sense ... The High Elf pet class the White Lion has been in WAR art at Con's for almost a year now. Plus it would leave the Order imbalanced against Destruction to not have a Pet Class.
The Sword Master is the main Melee / Tank Class. The Ranged / DPS Class is the Shadow Warrior while the nuker / healer class is the Archmage...the only thing left is the Melee / DPS class...which would be a White Lion who are Melee DPS characters with a pet.
Recent TT Warhammer Lore the White Lion kills the mother and raises the cub.

But the way they are constructing the game they aren't making two distance guys for the same class. So where is the sense in that. As I said the only one left is the melee class, how would a guy with a pet be both, that'd make things completely unbalanced. It'd give the high elves to high powered distance guys.
Just because they are part of the lore doesn't mean they will be in there. The deciple isn'tpart of the lore, but they added them. Theya re using creative liberties, maybe they will do the same with the high elves, but giving to high powered distance guys to one race...Not fair.

Yea actually they are if you look at how the classes line up they're completely different from each other. Class types are completely different between a racial pairing but across the Entire realm their is an equivalant somewhere even if they have different skills.
The High elves Ranged class is a Bow using Shadow Warrior...the only other BOW using ranged class in the entire game is the Squig Herder.
The Witch Hunter and the Witch Elf are the only two Stealth DPS classes .. they're in completely different Realms.
Warrior Priest & the Disciple of Khaine are Melee Healers.
Shaman & ArchMage are Nuker Healers

Step Two: Storyboards
As you can see from the storyboards, we took another crack at the action, this time featuring a Dark Elf Sorceress (female character, check! Magic, check!) and High Elf White Lion (Cool warrior class, check!). All looked pretty good, except we went a bit too far by giving the White Lion a cool new ability – the Lion’s Roar - that we could not guarantee would be in the game (or guarantee Games Workshop would approve) So we scratched that battle and finally settled on the Witch Elf vs. Mage pairing.
they wouldn't MENTION the white lion even in passing if it wasn't going to go in. but for the sake of hype remain tight lipped otherwise...and we'll just see what the deal is so you can eat Crow when the newsletter comes out with the final HE class.

My favorite part about your post is "anyone thinks there is going to be a pet class for the high elves they're* on crack". You, my friend, are the one who is on crack.
EA has mentioned multiple times that careers on both factors mirror each other. For example, Warrior Priests and Disciple's are both melee healers. You can pair one career on the Destruction with one on Order. Squig Herder --> White Lion. It makes sense. Dwarf Engineer is NOT a pet class. Also, I've read numerous posts about white lion armor and weapons being in beta.

okay I'll conceed the crack part was rude on my part, I'll apologise for that. But It's just a prediction. If I am wrong I'll be the first to tell you I"ll be having a big helping of humble pie that night.

Hmm, It is either going to be the White Lion (which sounds like great fun as a MDPS pet class) or they have just been dropping hints and info to get everyone to lean towards them while they have been working on the real class and are going to pull an awesome switch. That is my theory anyways. We will find out for sure in this months newsletter.

I'm going to go out on the tinniest and thinnest limbs I can find and say, for a high elf pet class possibly those dragon prince guys. Before so say holy crap your an idiot (which I probably deserve) think of the lore. They mentioned the dragons are starting to stir again. Mayhaps the dragon prince guys are raising baby dragons and those are the pets. They are not big enough to fly on or ride but big enough to tear the baddies a new one. In the end it will probably be the white lion.

What you are thinking about seems way to close to the FFXI Dragoon for comfort.
I'm with those that think the White lion will be it. We have seen promo boards with the White lion on it, while other career's not in the game have been removed from various pictures(heres looking at you slayers!), we know we need some form of melee class, and we need a class with the pet mechanic to match the Squig herders.
We only have two options, the White lion which, as I said, we have already seen promo boards with the white lion and his 'pet' attacking a witch elf, and the potential Dragon Prince, but considering Dragon princes are the cockiest of the high Elves, and always fight mounted in the heaviest most over the top armor, it leaves alot of doubt we would see them pick up a sword and shield/lance/duel sword and a dragon companion.

Always has and always will, if you want to play a 100% loreful game, play the P&P RPG.
I've heard in many places that the white lion will be the last high elf class and while I would love a Dragon Prince class, it looks like they will be left for some expansion later on, if ever.
Now, if the white lion have or not a pet, we will see.... on monday! so not long to wait, uh?

i for one belive that its gonna be the white lion. i remember seeing a banner or something where there was a HighElf beating a lion, on a pic from a warhammer game convention or something. why spend money on "art" like that if it dosnt have anything to do with the game ?
I read a little on it, and I didn't want to play a good guy, but this is the only good guy class the really gets me. I will play her on a different server.
