I want to go back and see populations and put some money into my houses for maintenance.
Anyway, I dont have the cd's anymore and have a new PC so no copy on the hard drive. I tried doing the 14 day trial install. It gets halfway done then asks for Disc 2 which doesnt make sense considering Im downloading the dam thing.
I went online to tech support live chat. They tell me to download Launchpad and it will auto download any games Im entitled to play. I try but it fails to connect each time. The tech guy says to check my firewall (i turned it off) or maybe my router is interferring. I thought maybe it was because I didnt have an active account so I forked over the $15. It still wont let me connect.
Any other options for me to directly download SWG ? Im not about to spend $20 more to buy another version.
Vanguard didnt make me do that either. I was able to directly download the game without a CD and not resorting to buying the game again.

I know a couple of people that had this problem and one of them found the solution in the questions database and copied and pasted to another forum so here is the link

hope it works. If you are a vet you should be "pending" and have a free trial but you need to login to your account on sony station to find this out. If it says pending this should work. This person had also lost their disks.
You will not be able to leave the trial station, so how are you going to "see populations?"
Also, how do you intend to put maintenance in your house when your trial character is not on the friends list?
If you are a vet then your account should still be open for a few more days (40 day vet trial going on).
As for downloading the client - try File Planet or grab it from a bit torrent.
I miss the good ol' days when nerds were actually intelligent.
Just make sure when you download off the trial page that you Download BOTH the files it tells you to and you follow the directions exactly as it says. If you don't it could ask for disk 2 or what have you.
I don't know why they did it like that but its really stupid.
He just wants to reinstall the game but he does not have the CD so he is taking the trial to install it and after when he launch the game he will enter his main account info. That is why he put 15$ into his account. He probably did not know about downloading the client somewhere else.
Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!!
I had the same issue with the download myself. I followed the instructions on using the LaunchPad and that worked for me. Yes it took probably 4 to 5 hours, but I was able to get it downloaded and patched.
I have been in the game now for a couple of days now.
For this method on the SWG trial to work do i need to already have the trial downloaded. I have downloaded it twice before and i have received the network error both times. So i deleted them on both occasions. I really want a solution to try this game. I used to have it then lost my discs. So the question is do i need to re-download the trial then use this method to get passed this Network error?

Click on the 'Try it now / 14 day free trial'. In the window above that the instructions are quite clear, download the first bit (conveniently called DOWNLOAD NOW! STEP 1')... then download the second bit (thoughtfully labeled DOWNLOAD NOW! STEP 2), which, incidentally is 'CD 2'...
