Trying to decide to buy the game

in Age of Conan: Unchained

I've seen opposing answers to several questions that will make or break this game for me so I'm delurking to ask them with the hope that the answers will either prompt me to buy it or move on.

1. I have friends scattered across the globe, if I run to Best Buy and grab a copy of the game will I be able to play with my friends in Europe?

2. Can I skip the intro stuff on alts and just run to my guild hang out or do I really have to go through the same "noob island" experience every time?

3. Is it possible to turn off blood and bewbs during the day when the kids are around and then turn them back on after they go to bed?

 

 

So far all signs point to "no" to all questions but I'm hoping I'm misunderstanding what I've been reading so far.

I spent over 2 years in Anarchy Online so I'm wondering how much cross-pollenization there was in playstyle. For instance is there an overabundance of "nodrop" gear,etc? 

I really want to want AoC and I think I have a computer that can handle it but I am wondering if a lot of what annoyed me in Anarchy Online went into AoC, for that matter some of the changes that happened in AO in the last year seem like they came directly from the AoC gameplan. Or maybe I'm just crazy.

    No.  US games will go on US servers. EU Games will go on EU servers.

    You have to go through the noob island every single time.

     I think you can

    Ive played AO for a long time and even served on their ARK program.  AoC is nothing like AO (except for the soloable dungeon options).  The loot is AoC is lacking.  Epic dungeon crawls yields the same loot as normal.  You can get loot in AoC but its the same stuff on the NPC vendor but with a couple other stats that no one can figure out because there is no base stats to go off of.

     I would suggest waiting until the baddy pass gets activated and have your friends let you have one.  This would be the best course of action for you in my opinion.

    Well, let me do a quick currency conversion here...

    As best I can figure it 39 euros is $6.5billionUS based on today's numbers.

    I'm in the US but a lot of my orgmates from AO who have migrated to AoC are in Europe and since I've been quite happily playing City of Heroes for several months the biggest draw AoC would have for me is getting back together with the old gang.

    Well that pretty much settles that then. Is there ANY reason to suspect that might be changing and have FC given any explanation as to why that's the case?

    Well that pretty much settles that then. Is there ANY reason to suspect that might be changing and have FC given any explanation as to why that's the case?

     

    I could be completely wrong but I think it has to do with the censor and the blood issues. That's what a forum mod stated.....but they aren't very resourceful at times.

    WellI havent bought AoC yet some of the things you mentioned worried me, But im sure Funcom will update them as needed.

    Eg. Npc item like drops in Instances,  One thing that drove me to insanity besides cap being 20 is how GW all the gear is the same.

    I decided before it came out I was going to wait a couple of months before I buy it as to give the makers and programmers to work out the majority of the bugs.

    A tiny mind is a tidy mind...
