Hey everyone I'm posting here for my sister(and I mean it)
She's wanting to know of any mmos that she'd enjoy, and she doesn't like fighting, like she doesn't like games with fighting as the main task e.g. Toontown, Sims, Second life, ect.
Comments
Ummm dunno many games which have no fighting and are even halfway decent, BTW dont even try those cute F2P's they are just.....
I would suggest LOTRO since it has not got a lot of fighting if you are a hobbit atleast in the beginning later on it does become like the usual mmo but then again the community is quite mature for a 13 yr old girl to play in?
I suggested LOTRO since it can help a person come to terms with MMORPG's, its got a nice UI and the game slowly builds up. My sister had the same case, she didnt like fighting games much, but then we both subscribed to LOTRO and she has been loving it.
Thanks buddy, I'll tell my sis about this, thanks

I can't vouch for the quality or gameplay, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't involve a lot of fighting.
lol
elk, that made me spit up in my mouth a little
Thanks for all the help guys, keep them coming
She is going to have to fight sometime.
I would suggest to tell her to float around on free trials until she finds an environment that she likes and then find an RP guild.
Maybe some of the older games like AO or Matrix.
MMo parties can be pretty fun to. Usually It's a bunch people just chatting listening to gridstream or something.
Afterthought: Maybe she would like that myth mmo that GameTap has.
I would not suggest any mmorpg for a child, they should go out and meet friends, do sport and socializing. This is more important in this age. Way to early for an mmorpg with its addictive content, most of them will sit later anyway all the day in their jobs or for education. Some short games for an hour or max 2 is ok, but you tend to invest a lot more time into mmorpgs and thats a no go for kids i think.

there is also Habbo Hotel and OZ, both are in the games list.
Habbo is more of a party/chatroom. The graphics are shockwave and look like legos, but it is specifically geared to 13-18 crowd. Since it uses micro payments she can play with her babysitting money
Oz is more of making freinds, romance and buying clothes and interior decorating. it is also micrpayments.
The best way to find a game your sis wil like is; what single player games does she like an is there a MMO of that type.
Cheers!
MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
have a look at Hello Kitty Online, it is very girly.
Dont say things like that... we need gamer's. Especially now when console's are taking over.
Find a game that has some kind of moderation or supervision so she can report any harassment. Most pay-to-play MMOs are going to be more reliable and safe in that respect.
LOTRO is a good option. It isn't graphic, there isn't much in the way of gore or skin. She can choose to sit around and chit chat while she crafts, fishes, plays music, or dresses up her character with the outfit system. When I babysit for my 11 year old niece, she sits at the Auction House and buys clothes to put on my characters. I have a guildie that spent the entire first year of the game sitting in the Shire just chatting with people, never broke L20 until just recently. Most of the starter areas have mostly non-aggressive mobs and safe roads, so she would be able to get around without being forced to fight. They also keep the PvP in a seperate zone, so she wouldn't be harassed by gankers. The community is also mostly friendly and polite.
Whatever game she plays, make sure someone will be able to check in on who she's talking to and what they are saying. The are a lot of freaks and pervs out there.
Previous played: SWG (pre-NGE), DAoC, CoH, Anarchy Online, DDO, Champions Online Beta, LOTRO, GW2, SWTOR
It's really hard to suggest anything for a third person, most especially when they are that young and most, most especially when you don't know their maturity level.
In general, as a rule, I would never suggest any sort of MMO to anyone under 15/16 and even then I'd be very weary and hyper critical of the maturity level before hand.
All that being said, since you mentioned Second Life, there is a teen version with considerable limitations.
It can be found here: http://teen.secondlife.com/
Otherwise some of the other more younger oriented games might be suitable but might also be entirely childish for a 13 year old girl.
Important Information regarding Posting and You
My daughter plays Ragnarok but it involves fighting. She is addicted to a couple of other sites called Gaia and Roliana (sp)and those sites are a "dress your avatar" type of game.
If you can get your hands on a Gamecube machine- Animal Crossing is the best console game ever. My daughter and I were both addicted for a good year:)
Hey Moon_King, I'm replying for my brother's friend who's dad said that his cousin who told his uncle. (and I mean it)
There are no fantasy or scifi MMOs that don't have fighting. They're all about the fight between good and evil. At least not that I know of. EVE would actually be a good game maybe. In EVE you can be a miner or merchant and virtually never have to fight. Just make stuff and socialize.
Hope this helps.

What about Lila Dreams?
Takes place in the mind of an 11 year-old girl.
(Not that Lila Dream's weirdness is in your sister's head, it just actually sounds like a fun game for that age group).

Toontown Online seems to be meant for kids. I don't know much about the game, but it looks like they have some fighting and it's done with water cannons (information is based on screenshots only).
Habbo Hotel is a large virtual chatroom. It has absolutely no fighting, but I wouldn't really suggest it since the games main attractions seems to be furnishing your house. And every single item costs real money as far as I'm aware. But it might be good as a virtual chatroom/playground.
Gaia online seems to be some kind of game without fighting. But after taking a closer look at their site, it seems to be a site where you create an avatar and then take part to seperate minigames (Jigsaw, Rally, Slots, Fishing, etc.)
Hello Kitty Online has very cute graphics and it might fit for children. But it has fighting, and I tested the game (open beta). It didn't feel like really good game, neither for kids nor for adults. But maybe they improve it.
If the child would like to fight, I'd suggest just World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings online. Both are very good games, and as games superior to any of those children's games.
World of Warcraft has more intuitive controls and it might be easier for a child to pick up and just to play (as long as you limit the amount she plays it), and I think the cartoony and thus non-realistic graphics would fit a child, but it has immature community wich is not good for 13 years old.
Lord of the Rings online may be a little harder to just pick up and play than World of Warcraft as controlling isn't as intuitive, but it's also very easy. The community is better than in WoW, there are a lot less idiots and more friendly people. But don't be fooled to believe that this game could be played without killing. Even the tutorial (wich has to be completed before enterin to Shire) has mostly quests involving killing something. There is lot of non-violent content, especially the many quests in Shire, but there is also lots of killing wich can't be totally avoided.
if she likes crafting and gathering stuff try... A Tale in the Desert.
runescape.
My blog:
She could just play a healing class in any mmorpg. She'd be in high demand and wouldn't have to kill anything.
