So I completely hate the instancing or zoning.. whatever you wanna call it. and it's ruining the game for me no matter how much I try to get over it, I still know its there...
So why wouldnt they have just created more zones in the world (especially more starting zones) to spread out the player load instead of these stupid copies of the zones they have now.. It seems like they just took the easy way out.

It's the easy way out in the sense that it's easier for everyone.
They've learned a lot from previous games that are completely one instance, like WoW, excluding it's dungeons. A full-front raid on the major cities(usually consisting of about 100 level 80s on each side, not to mention the 100s of lowbies jumping in to be "epic" pwnzers) was a massacre of lag... it would be a picture show no matter how good your rig or your connection was.
I prefer instancing over the WoW route in all honesty... I think what sets off a lot of people is that they are not used to load times. Partly why it's a graphical game... there are going to be some sacrifices to go along with it. If you bought the game without realizing this is graphically extensive then you obviously don't really know too much of the game. WAR will be less graphically extensive, without a doubt, for the people who can't take the loads.
In short, more playable with plenty of enough players to... well, play with. Thus the name, players, amirite????

If only SW:TOR could be this epic...
Well this is an easy one to answer...
The main reason is budget and time. The longer the game isnt released the more they lose. For every zone that they want to release you should expect an extra 2 mounths I would say before it gets released.
There's also things like how much diskspace the game will take up on your PC. I wouldent care (500 gig HD) but it would limit the amount of players for every extra gig the game uses up.
Now i personaly dont mind but to some travel time's to get from one place to anouther would increase. Also what if certain areas of the game get populer to hang out and become trade hubs... then what would they do? Some zones might always be empty and some might be loaded with people.
You also have to take into account that there designing this around the 360. Theres certain performance issues you have to watch out for.
I never played AoC but from experiance thats what ive come up with.
It is alot more intensive for a computer to handle a massive open Zone like that, And for the last god damn time... AoC Isnt WoW Do not come here expecting AoC to be WoW... If you like WoW so much with no Zoning go play WoW... dont cry here.

If you want more zones without instnaces, why not try Vanguard? Vanguard already shows massive open world isn't the key to success.
