Give Vanguard another chance!!!!

I just resubbed to Vanguard and I was quite amazed with it. The game is much much better than it was late-beta and at release. I haven't crashed once and I'm running the game on high setting @ 1400x900 res. At release I couldn't dream of doing that.

Everything seems to be working great such as quests, spells, and skills. It kind of sucks that you can't customize your avatars appearence as much but the helmets are cool.

PvE servers have around 500-1k users on depending on time and I have yet to see over 200 people on the PvP server yet. I hope they bring back Team PvP but I doubt it.  It would be nice to see more PR and a re-release for this game or even a trial to boost the population.

I think I've found my game until Darkfall comes out... if it ever does.  I'd advise anybody that had tried this game at release to give it another go since everything is working well now. You won't be dissapointed!!

Been playing again for the last few days and i'm having a blast, the game is great.   With GU5 they fix most of the hitching also.   The game is very good guys, come back and see for yourself.

I played in beta and in release. The game was fun then but the bugs and performance were just horrid. However, I am going to reinstall this weekend and check it out again.

Sony has done a great job at taking a beautiful game concept and design and making it work technically.

Umm isn't this the game where the players said it was PERFECT, and that if someone didn't like they should get lost because they were a Newb with a $500 dollar best buy computer and simply weren't hardcore enough to be in with the Elite VG crowd?

Try it again, no thanks it had its day, Brad took the money and ran. I had a friend within the last week resub he says chunking is better but their are still crashes, and hitching more then almost any other game out.

So while the VG elite player base can sit there alone doing whatever they do, I personally will be having fun elsewhere. VG IMO just doesn't hold anything worth giving it a second chance and more money. (One gets tired of through good money away after bad.) Yes i am a disgrunted ex-player I spent my money, I played the game, I'm entitled to my opinion, and no I don't have to forgive the wreck that was VG there are other better and more fun MMO's out now. Yes you can have my stuff Bubye

    - I think you have us confused with the AoC forum.

No, it was THIS crowd who said that, and Vanguard was the next WoW killer was also stated on these very forums by Vantard bois.

I have to say I started playing again the other night when Conan was offline and I hav'nt played Conan since !  , I was in Vanguard Beta and was around at launch and was so dissapointed..... but now ! I cant believe how good it has become , it has also stopped me from going back to Conan for now, I'm having a real blast.

I was one of the biggest Vanguard skeptics but believe me its a totally different game to what it was at launch. So yeah peeps please give Vanguard another shot its brill !

Those people all bailed on the game a long time ago...seriously, and I'm not trying to be an arse, you can see most of them over at AoC.

I have a low end gaming PC and I run on high settings.

Core2Duo 1.8ghz / 3.5GB Ram / Nvidia 8600GT / 500GB HD / Nforce 5 Mobo... ( I got lucky and my 7600 broke so when I sent my 7600 back for warranty they gave me a 8600GT [XFX Lifetime Warranty FTW]) Although the game ran pretty well with my 7600... had to tweak it but the settings were between medium and high.

I also forgot to mention that the community is excellent. No immature remarks like barrens chat and everyone is very helpful.

Also since I have a subscription is there a way for me to get a buddy key? If so I'd be glad to give someone mine.

My husband and I just subscribed a month ago.  I saw the collector's edition at our local EBGames shop for $19.99 and couldn't pass it up.  I honestly was expecting to be disappointed since it wasn't playable for me just before release and I still have the same computer.  But it's been a really nice surprise.  I've had very few performance issues and the gameplay is more my style of play than most anything else I've tried.  And I've gotten addicted to diplomacy which is unlike anything I've experienced anywhere else.

Usually I stick with one character in MMO's, but the classes have been so much fun, I can't stop making alts.  Don't know if I"ll still be having this much fun in the months ahead, but for now it's been very enjoyable.  It's not perfect.  I've run into bugged quests here and there, but my petitions were always responded to quickly so the frustrations have been minimal.

VG has probably one of the best customer support at the moment. I recall a situation where I felt throught the ground two times on the same place and died and couldn't restore my tombstone. I contacted support if they can drag my tombstone to a place I can reach. GM responded he can't but gave me a buff that lasted an hour that doubled all the xp I gained, which was far more than I actually losed by the death penalty.

sorry going littlebit offtopic right here...

but I was wondering when I press cancel subscription in the "Subscriptions Info" it wont continue the payment when my gametime ends? Quoting what it says, Just to make things clear.

    "1 Month Recurring

    (expires 6/30/08)"

"Subscription is temporarily active, and will move to "Closed" status after all stacked time has expired."

I resub 'd yesterday and continued playing my Disciple. I duo'd with a Dread Knight and did some quests and what not and it was really fun. We decided to take a break, I'm moving and had to prep some stuff for renovating a room the next day in my new house.

I came back and he was still on so we picked up where we left off and brought a Rogue this time. It was really entertaining. The quests are more than "Go here kill this come back". There are those quests, no doubt, but the quests that aren't like that have you EXPLORE, which I am loving.

One major problem I am having is mid-play it is booting either to the character select screen or to a load screen and then locking up to where I have to end the task through task manager. I'm going to start looking for a solution to the problem but if anyone has any input let me know.

Just started playing about a week ago and I'm having more fun than I expected.  My rig is old and I do just fine:

Athlon XP 2500, 1 GB Ram, ASUS nForce MB, 120 GB HD, ATI 9800 Pro.

I do get my share of crashes (I crash on every MMO i play), but this is due to ATI's crappy video card and poor drivers.  I'm running on "Balanced" video settings at 1280x768, and the world looks beautiful to me and I have no performance problems.

I'm really enjoying the diplomacy and crafting a lot.  In fact, I haven't been out adventuring except for the first day I started playing.
