stress test download counter

First off, the ones I've found appear to be frozen... they're the one at fileplanet and the one right here. I think they're frozen, because those servers for download are constantly full anyways.

*sigh*... now I can't estimate when this stress test will start. does anyone know of any other counters, or are they the only ones?

That counter site was based off of the fileplanet one anyway.

I'm guessing they froze the fileplanet one because everyone was refreshing the page constantly to watch it go up. They're servers are packed enough as it is with people downloading, they don't need people constantly refreshing that page on top of that.

No counters will work if the source they get it from is forzen (In this case, Fileplanet).

There are 5 free servers that fit approx. 817/817 slots. Multiply that by 5, and that means there is around 4000 people downloading beta at a time. Assuming the average tester has cable, that means it will take around 2 hours to download. Meaning 2000 downloads an hour, 48 000 downloads a day.

So in 1 day, approximatley 48 000 people downloaded the game, and that is only the free server.

100 000 spots has to be filled by tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised if they started the stress test tomorrow... I am guessing at least 60k people have the game now.. probably like 80-90k people signed up with ekys or waiting for their keys sicne fp keeps running out..

I think there is enough downloads at this moment. Mathematically it should be full already.

The problem is the CD keys, everyone is waiting on those.

I'm pretty pissed that I slept in today. By the time I got on and found out that they are letting non-subscribers sign up Fileplanet told me that there current amount of keys are filled up and they will send me an email when they get more. Sounds to me like I didn't get in. ::::21::

Yeah. I have proof, too. After I dled and refreshed ten minutes later, nothing happened. Oh well. Like I said earlier, I never had to pay, so I am happy. I just went to a link straight from these forums. It was a thread saying something like "Stress Test code here." or something. I just clicked that link and it let me go on from there like I had just gotten done paying. Golly gee, I sure do the love the internet.

When does the World of Warcraft stress test beta begin?
The stress test will start shortly after the sign-up period ends. The actual date is undetermined as of yet, but when the stress test beta is ready to start, an announcement will be posted on www.fileplanet.com and a second email will go out with instructions on how to create your stress test beta account and start playing.

i feel like such an idiot. i subscribed to the stress test without thinking. After i went and mindlessly gave em my credit card number and downloaded the game (i also fell for thier 3 month trick) i have finally came down from the euphoria of thinking i was gonna get to play . Bull! i realize now that although this may be a stress test it's also just a psycological ploy by blizzard to crete more hype. There are gonna be so many people on this 1 server (yes i said ONE server) that we will be lucky to even log in let alone actually play the game. And if a miracle does happen and we can log on, i guess we can just stand and admire the scenery cause the lag is gonna be so bad i doubt if i will be able to even move...let alone play any kind of game....Makes me soooo mad i may not even buy the stupid game. bwsides EQ2 is gonna blow this game away isn't it obvious!!! Sheesh!

Don't be mad at Blizzard because YOU thought you were going to get something good out of this. It's a STRESS TEST. What did you expect? It's going to be laggy as all hell. It's not Blizzard's fault if you didn't read and understand that fact.

i bet they disabled the counter on purpose to prevent people from calculating the start date.
tricky move, we won't see any "wtf?.. 100k downloads and no start yet? u all suck.. " now

Heh they took down the counter cuz they dont want mass threads with "OMG 100k+ people downloaded the game WHEN WILL IT START!!!!"..... Probabaly will still get "When will it start threads" but still... We all know its at or above 100k by now its been what? 3 days? thats damn impressive and just goes to show how popular WoW really is if all these people wanna stress test the game. Cant wait....

I just was looking at the download page and all the servers are at NONE for the wait time. Maybe it will mean that either enough ppl have downloaded or we could be waiting for a while

I really hope to have email telling me how to set up an account. I don't expect to really play but will at least log on and let the character sit there

no.. they are out of "public" keys again

Now on FilePlanet :

The North American World of Warcraft Stress Test Beta is CLOSED to public submissions! North American FilePlanet subscribers can still get in!

So they are out of keys for good now, they might have kept some hundreds keys for their paying subscribers, but I smell a stress test coming pretty soon now ::::20::
