People should be able to understand that to a game to be very successful.
It has to be available to most people but this game is NOT.
Why?
Simply because casual players are not high tech hardcore players.
Age of Loading needs to run DECENT on "NORMAL" computers also.
It does not matter if you have:
NVIDIA GeForce 7800GTX with 2 GIGABYTE of memory.
The game will run but the loading will be from 10-30 seconds.

You can go to the same place as your friend and still not see him, high five.
You can travel to the place you know your friend is, wanting to surprise him, but hey.
Where the... is he? Oh damn.
No surprise. (Because of the power of instances, they are everywhere, they watches us!!!)

Ps each of of those loads in 3 seconds for me.
Your Title should be:
Introduction: Tortage: The Beginning
This area was purposely designed like this....... etc etc
The loading time for entering and leaving the Tavern is about 3 seconds if you've got any RAM, which is hardly a big problem.
loading for me is 3 to 5 seconds and log on american severs fron europe
Buy a new computer mate
Playing: World of Warcraft.
Played: Lord of the Rings Online, Starwars Galaxies.
Tried: Starwars the Old Republic, Everquest 2, Guild Wars, Vanguard, Age of Conan, Aion.
Reality check
Buy new computer to decrease loading screens. And maybe, just maybe grow a better ignorance over the loading screens.

Ignorance? This coming from a player that doesn't even no to go to the instance his friend is in if he wants to see him. The pot calls the kettle black.

If you don't like it, play something else. This isn't breaking news your posting.I started with EQ, which has load screens, doesn't bug me at all.
If you questing alot you travel alot and you come across many loading screens this is how game is.
If you grind alot and AoC is pure grinding game then offcorse you dont have many loading screens lol.
Grind for mount btw cost50 gold, normal players who just bought game at launch wont have mount at lvl40 imposible, or you belong to group who have DUPE GOLD, drops mobs avarage 1 to 4 copper(dungeons included same terible drop rate) up till lvl40, items sell even less then copper avarage 80tin, auction house prices are joke, ok its also almost 100% junk what they sell, so grind for months and months to get even a mount, much wursh then WoW:p.
Have fun with endless grind:P
And i have a decent gm pc 8800gt 4gig 9300 quad and still have 10 to 30 sec loading times so you sir eather lie or you have a super computer.
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
Correct! Most of us are having a blast playing the latest MMO on the market... now on to your fallacies...
Successful? Yep, AoC is already the most succussful launch of an MMO in the USA. And wrong, a product does not have to cater to the poorest of the population in order to be successful. Ever head of Cadillac automobile? A Baume & Mercier watch? Starbucks Coffee? None of these very successful products cater to the under achievers in society.
AoC is what it is, it is a game that is gorgeous on mid to high end systems. Not everyone wants to buy a mid to highend computer, but who are you to say that if I want to purchase one and I want to purchase a pulchritudinous game for one... that somehow the companies should be catering to you and your choices?
I am a casual gamer and I am enjoying a game that not everyone can run on their toaster oven. There is nothing wrong with that. I also enjoy Eres swimsuits for more than you would likely spend, but it is my choice and I enjoy what fine fashion looks and feels like... and I am stuffing a few hundred dollar one in to my scrubs bag to wear on the boat after work today. I don't want you limiting my choice in bikini and I don't want you limiting my choice in MMO.
Please, it is supposed to be a free world. You make your choices and I will make mine nad here is to hoping that companies will always deliver options to fill both desires.
(Personally, I will pay $100 a month for an even MORE high end game! Get rid of all the garbage computers and we can reduce the instancing, put even more goodies in to the game and make it even more entertaining for ME. Perhaps have paid employees to run NPC-quests in real time. Perhaps add interaction on a scale that is only dreamt about today. I say forget the low budget people and start to produce the Cadillac of MMOs )
"The reality of the poor in America isn't the difference between The Haves and The Have Nots, it is the difference between The Haves and The Have Lots."
Bullshit. At 40 you've to buy the basic riding skill (1 gold) and a horse (2 gold). Total is 3 golds. At least try games before writing, thanks.
Yeah loading screens are really getting annoying. I just had a quest that said go out side to this guy, loading screen, talk to guy, go back, loading screen, go back out side, loading screen, now go here, loading screen, and here, loading screen and so on, was a quest in tortage can not even remember the name of it because of how much running around and loading it was doing I just wanted to finish the damn thing.
It is a good thing they are only 30 seconds at the longest so far most seem to take 15-20 seconds, seems to be slightly quicker if you have been to the area before as well.
Btw my dad is playing this game perfectly fine apart from the crashes everyone is experiencing at the moment, on a geforce 6200, 1 gig of ram, 3.0 single core pentium 4 proccessor average of 15 FPS in Tortage with upwards of 20 people around, which means you notice a bit of stuttering(A game needs to run at 24 frames per second before you see it as smooth) but it is very playable.
even -with- loading screens,
I'm confident many gamers will enjoy gameplay beyond the loading screens...

LOL ... I had so much fun reading this
Totally agree (except for the bikini stuff...ahem)
I have a huge comp set up and want games that test it and beyond. If others cannot run a game because they are unable or unwilling to upgrade with technology...not my issue. True its harmful if the game cannot get enough mainstream support to fund its ongoing revenue model but thats their problem when they create their pitch.
I refuse to be held back just because I can afford and am willing to keep up with the tech and others cannot.
Let this now be known as the "bikini" thread...Muhahhaha
To err is human....to play is divine

i agree also, maybe if the people making $25,000 a year should go and advance them selfs in society instead of bitching to others that they cant afford anything.
After tortage you won't be facing loading screens often any more, in some cases it might be a few hours later.
And even in Tortage, those loadings aren't that long, the "from/tavern" is as good as instant.
However the loading and instance/zoning, does kill the feeling of a "vast world" ect. But the OP here, doesn't seem to have played the game that long, if he mentions some easily/early known ways to fix them.
This game is very smooth, even on moderate computers.
