Why? Is the game not finished? Is it not released?

reviewers post final reviews when they think theyve seen enough

Gamespy posted their final review despite being only in mid30s

most of the current reviews listed at Metacritic are final reviews - based on the under 40 game

    www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/ageofconanhyborianadventures

at least the Gamespot reviewer got to level 40 before writing the final review

Well it's lining the shelves of Walmart for something like 80 bucks a box here.  So, it should be ready for a review.

If I read the review, I'll be aware that it's a review of what it's like to play the game for two weeks after its release.  That's not too difficult to get my head around.

Most of the time they give it a review close to launch but review it again a year or so later.. so don't worry. but you can understand why they need to review it early.. people want to know if they should play it now .. not wait months before a fair review can be made

So you allow  Reviews, someone else's thoughts, likes and dislikes influence what you like an dislike? Other peole out there like every single thing you like and dislike? If that is the case you are selling yourself short on life and all it has to offer.

Somehow it's a problem when reviewers form their opinion a week or two after launch, but nothing's wrong with the folks who've claimed to have cancelled their subscription within' the first week of launch and are still buzzing around.

It goes both ways, anyone with a negative opinion two weeks after launch can't attack a positive opinion, and vice-versa; not with the clause of the other being shortsighted.

I'm not sure what you mean.  I just said if it's for sale at Walmart, it should be ready for a review.  I also said that I'd be aware that any review written now would be of the game in its infancy.

I also recognize that a review is usually just one person's experience.  Someone else might have a different experience or point of view.  Still some reviews provide a lot of detail.  I like those best.  If someone says a game is very user friendly, I'd like to hear why they think that.  If someone says a game has an awful UI, I'd like to hear what's bad about it.  That kind of thing :).  I've read helpful reviews and unhelpful reviews.  I've read some with an obvious bias, and others that seem fairly objective, citing pros and cons.

Reviews are only one of many factors that tend to influence my thinking and my preferences.  One of my online buddies happens to like this game very much.  He likes it because gore spatters his screen when he lops off someone's head lol.  I'm glad he's happy, but that's not my cup of tea.

    I think you'll find Yougamer's review a bit more accurate www.yougamers.com/previews/18859_age_of_conan_first_impressions/

I think reviewers hate to review MMOs. Its easier to review a normal game (single or limited multiplayer) because the game doesn't really change. MMOs on average are patched monthly, sometimes with new content. There isnt a set story to follow and a larger time investment than its offline counterparts. Also most reviewers work on a deadline so they will just make it to a half way point and call it as they see it.

You cant really blame them either. If they write an in depth review, it could end up taking months after release, and by then no one will care.

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

I rarely agree with any Gamespot review anyway, there mostly really poor. If the game hasnt got Uber graphics or its some lame console FPS, they give it poor marks. I really hate thier reviews, the player reviews are usually better.

They called funcom and asked them about the game... Then wrote up the info from funcom.

When people are going to spend $50+ on it, you bet your ass they will read reviews, unless they are the type that blindly buys anything and continues to support shoddy shovel-ware games that are all hype.

Frankly it's hard for me to believe any reviewers since there's just too much potential for mistrust dwelling on my mind.  Too much potential for agendas.  With the incident Gamespot had and the sometimes look of a Xbox360 bias.

Minus that rant it's nice to go, "Uh huh, that's where I'd about place it +/- a point" for the entertainment factor though.

I was glad I was able to see the gameplay of this game during the fileplanet beta on my family member's account and try out a character for myself during the EA on the same account.

I'll make up my own mind through actions in the end.
