newbie looking for a good pvp server.

I am new to Asheron's call (new to mmorpg actually) but I have been playing pvp muds for 7+ years and am finally thinking of upgrading to something with graphics. I noticed there is a free trial available and so I am going to check this out.

So, I am wondering what would be a good server to create a character on?

I apologize for asking but, I have done some reading and there seems to be a bunch of servers with low populations, so I figured it might be good to ask which ones have a pbase for a player in north america.

Thanks for any information you can provide,

you could go on coldeve or darktide (one is kvk based one is pk based) but those are very unpopulated servers.  Both Frostfell and Coldeve have KvK only it is limited to specific areas (There are quite a few)

There is always kvk action on the white servers but to best enjoy it you need to be lv 45+ to access the areas.

I'm sure you meant Frostfell and Thistledown (not Coldeve) have KvK in specific areas. These 2 servers are definitely the most populated and there really isn't much difference between them.

Darktide is a fully PvP enabled server. Anyone can kill you anywhere. No safe places in the game. Population is low!

Coldever is a fully LvL enabled server. Opposing kingdoms can kill you anytime anywhere. You'll need to move into PvP areas to fight players in your own kingdom. Population is low!

Then there's the usual servers. Nice populations but you need to move into KvK or PvP enabled areas to look for player opponents.

    I prefer Darktide :P

Low is not a strong enough word. More like dismally, horribly, insanely, near-EMPTY. Or just plain desolate. Or Abandoned.

    *ahem*

If you enjoy PvP, you are better off playing the Dark Age of Camelot free trial. Or even the Anarchy Online free trial. (AO still has the best ever PvP out of all MMOPRGs.) The PvP oriented servers in AC2 have..... 50 players ..... and that is at PEAK time. image

But hey, the AC2 trial IS free, so go for it. You are not forced to play on just one server. Make characters on all of them and see how all the servers are. image

I've played fort battles a couple times, although I never was there for the big battles. Also, never played in a Palisade battle. But again, I never was really into pvp that much.

Not playing right now, but I will probably return when hero 2.0 is released.

Yeah, the PVP servers in AC2 are underpopulated, but that's no reason to send them to DAoC. Although I did enjoy the PVP in DAoC, that's not to say AC2 PVP can't compare. If you want populated servers and PVP action, just join one of the main servers. Although you can't PVP in every area, when ever you feel like PVP'n all you have to do is simply go to a PVP area, wether it be FFA or KvK.

I have characters on all the servers, but have mostly played coldeve since release and played a cb to lvl 48 on dt.  I still prefer ce.  Pops may be low but we are a close knit bunch, as i am sure dt can say about them.  We had a trial person join guild about 2-3 weeks ago and she is around hero lvl now.
