Is it to much to ask that people can have choice and enjoy a game without a million trolls hijacking every thread until the end of time? If you don't like a game stay out of it's respective forum. Simple.The mods at MMORPG should ban them, but then they would only have about 100 posters left.

Personally I'd rather the mods ban threads like these, I can deal with the negative opinions of the the trolls, but the whining about hate filled threads needs to go.

Surely they are a lesser evil than the whining riposte of a riposte of a riposte...At least i think. Not least because i didn't realise that it was that prevalent. In any event, it pales in comparison to thread derailing and general trolling.

It really irks me when someone calls people trolls just for having a different opinion.
If YOU don't want to read their opinions, YOU have the power to ignore them. But trying to silence them completely is not a grown-up response by any stretch of the imagination. So I find your "kiddies" jab rather amusing.
I would much prefer that they silence the stealth marketers ... but then they'd have about 100 posters left.

We can change the world by changing ourself. I learned long ago that thick skin is the solution. By allowing every troll to voice his or her opinion, they have a venue to calm down, etc.
Overall, being able to vent freely is a good thing...even if they don't like me, or I don't like them.

When I tried to get the attention from any of the MMORPG moderators and ask them to lock a thread containing over 200 trolling posts (which was kept bumped all the time), it ended with me getting a warning instead.

Nah, seriosly. The moderators at MMORPG are just to passive. Just look how the offical
forum of Eve-Online is moderate. If the same subject is brought back over and over again
people gets a warning etc.
If you want a serious discussion forum, MMORPG is not one anymore

Still, the fact is that if they say "this game sucks" or "this isn;t even an MMO" and they state the reasons why they think this, that does NOT make them trolls. They have a right to their own opinion; wether it be negative or positive. Just because someone is skeptic/doubtful/bashing about a game does NOT make them a troll if they give an explanation for their beliefs.

I can not attest to it's success as i have not played Vanguard for a long time, hence i do not go in to the forum.
Yeah, the AoC forums are bleeding over into everything, most games thread have some mention of AoC in them somewhere.
I go to the AoC forum once a day just to amuse myself.
Know what is funny though, I think most of the emo swg vets ended up playing AoC. Almost every post you have some poor sap saying "I came from SWG and I think AoC is a blast".
This concerns me a little. If AoC fails or gets changed to be less of a niche game, will they also form posse's all over the net and for the next decade try to bring down Eidos and Funcom? I hope not.
Maybe we should start a blog to dig deeper into the new unfolding issue with SWG vets all playing AoC?

Well, that's different, since you have not played it in a long time. If you had played it recently, then you have a right to rant/applaud the game.
My point is, many people have the same views in this forum, and each one expressing their opinion is fine. Just because someone else made a rant about it doesn't mean they don't have the right to.

I would be inclined to agree with you, but their is a respectable limit to how far that goes. That is where a balance needs to be struck. Otherwise a forum that should have its ideals based in like minded people having a place to interact with each other, turns in to complete mayhem. This goes for people lauding that game and decrying it. Although the latter are generally more crass in their methods.

There is a difference between a player who has a different opinion and a player who requires some sort of negative cathartic ouburst in order to vent anger that seems to go far deeper than being just unhappy that a game doesn't have pvp or that it is instanced.
Expressing an opinion that is different from the masses but is well constructed with well thought out points and even examples to back up the poster's view goes farther than some sort of personal manifesto or missive where someone can't seem to work out their own problems so they resort to childish outbursts, unnecessary insults, and seemingly an attempt to give themselves meaning by wallowing in drama for drama's sake.
