It's things like this that make me wonder whether this industry is headed for disaster. Right now, WoW is the industry, and once that gets to be old hat, what's going to replace it?
Buggy launches, preorders that never get to launch, and bait and switch like the SWG ToOW expansion? Sure glad Origin didn't launch UO like that, or else there wouldn't be an MMO industry today.

Back in my day... light bulbs were made to last..
REAL quality back in my day...
etc...
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
You know what's sad is I actually wanted to try this game out (never got to play beta). I know lots of people were saying it was boring and broken during the beta testing phase, but I love Greek and Roman Mythology so I wouldn't of minded playing it for a month or two. With that said I'm gonna go play some Titan Quest now.
EDIT: And now that I fired up Titan Quest, it got me to thinking and made me sad since Iron Lore (the developer of the game) is now out of business. Ugh.
Well, there's always Roma Victor.........................no, wait. You're still screwed.
Dear Zorvan, you need to bold the word "screwed" and color it bright red. If someone in a hurry failed to finish reading your sentence, you will be blamed
I saw a few copies at my local EB Games, and mentioned it to the clerk. He thanked me, and promptly pulled the copies.
It's an odd situation to be in for the retailers. It's been a while since I worked in retail (at a bookstore), but items that we could return for credit had such return shipping paid for by the distributor/manufacturer/publisher. Since Perp is dead, no return shipping will likely be re-imbursed. And yet the retailer is contractually responsible for the product on its shelf -- they can't just throw away the copies.

I just took this with my camera phone today at Best Buy. Actually there are 3 different Best Buys within 15 miles of each other where I live in Los Angeles, and they all still have them on the shelves. Enjoy and get em while they're HOT! They've got lots of copies left.
It's the pre-order folks, it probably retails for $9.99. How much could they discount it to?
Just bringing this back up. I was at a totally different Best Buy... This one near the San Gabriel Valley here in California. Here is another one that had a bunch of copies of Pre-Sale Gods & Heroes boxes ready for you to purchase!
A year after AC2 shut down I was in an EB Games and saw a copy of it on the shelf. I took it up to the store manager and asked him how he can sell this, seeing as it's completely unplayable and useless...and someone buying it may not know so until opening the package and thus invalidating a return.
Then I realized who I was talking to and left the store.
Originally posted by GreenChaos I just saw a copy of auto assault in a store in Japan. I didnt think to take a picture. (Too busy taking pictures of school girls)

My local gamestop has a AC2 game still... I've told them about 20 times that the game was shut down.
So I guess that's pretty common... I don't think they have many PC customers anyway.
I noticed they still had a SWG collectors edition... *.*
