Well , my friends. If you still didnt get Mass Effect for PC , you are seriously wasting your time.

Bioware has finally brought back the AMAZING into video games , and if their MMO will be anything like the uber standards they reached with Mass Effect.

Than in a year we will laugh about WOW,AOC and WAR as some bad jokes and amateur attempts on game design

MASS EFFECT IS AMAZING !!!!

Read this from a review on Gamespot:

"Players stepped onto this stage as Commander Shepard, a hero at the vanguard of humanity's ascension in the arena of galactic politics, and thus began an epic story bolstered by engaging characters and rich, branching dialogue..."

Sounds more like a movie than a game.  They name your character, you're in a story, "branching" dialogue.

How is the gameplay.  Any freedom at all?

  • If I had the money I would spend it. To bad I wasted my months game money on that piece of crap game that funcom released.

No same crap as SWkotor and NWN. After BG1 when a good bunch of their designers left, bioware is going downhill.

Yeah they've hit bottom. I mean, no one played those two so why play mass effect? AMIRITE?!?!

Is there a game out there that this forum won't take a big shit on?

While Bioware are a great developer, and Mass Effect is a solid game, it is far from their best work. They've done better games, and will do better games again. Mass Effect is nice while it lasts, which is about 10 hours. I expect better from Bioware next time.

Seriously, do you evaluate quality based on popularity? I don't. I didn't like these games after BG1, I found them too linear too forgiving and especially NWN/kotor were too combat oriented.

What a strange thing to say.  I suppose that, were there less combat, you would say the game was crap because it was little more than a glorified storybook?  Seriously, if you remove the combat...what "gameplay" is there left?  I'm quite lost on this concept you have...and I'm not entirely sure if you aren't just being a grump just for the sake of being one.  To tell the truth, I've liked ALL of Biowares games.  I mean, I even liked  Jade Empire.  Loved it even.

Not sure why you hate them so....even less sure how you could FOOLISHLY not equate popularity to quality.  If something were actually BAD, then naturally no one would like it.  We can debate all day why it is that YOUR tastes are something magical...and that most of the world are just idiots.  I find that being a non-conformist just for the sake of being one is rather stupid...and actually works AGAINST the very ideals it is supposed to uphold.

I didn't hate them, and i didnt say my tastes are magical. But yes, I prefer much more storytelling RPGs like Planescape torment, or RPGs that gave me a lot of freedom (Arcanum, BG1, Fallout, Vampire:The Bloodines or Greyhawk). I think even BG2/Kotor/NWN were simply a bit dumbed down. I'm not judging tho your tastes.

mass effect is a epic story, but that doesn't make it a fun game to play. Yeah you dont get to name your character but you do get to choose female or male and custimize your look to the fullest. good game so reality check on you.

I’ll try it on the PC.  Bioware has never let me down.  I have it for the 360, but I am new to the 360 and had problems just moving around.  So I didn’t get far.

You said it man , wasted my money too.

    But back to Mass Effect

I am avid RPG player. I love it. I played probably every western rpg since the dawn of computer gaming ( i just can not connect to japanese rpgs...sorry )

And I can guarantee you that ME got the reputation it deserves. It is simply amazing.

And combat in PC version is excellent aswell
