Hey everyone, well i just installed Vanguard and i started to play! Well i ahve to say for some reason i was not impressed at all. I know i know im only lbl 3 but as i was talking to some people in the /ooc chat i was told that only 100 people were on the server. 100 people is that even possible. there were only 4 servers for me to choose from and that measn only 400 people are playing. That does NOT sound right im sorry. Another thing i dont know what class to pick, i trade ranger but they didnt seem to be that interesting at the start. I just wanted to know what you guys think of the comments i have made above, and whether my opinons of the game from just 3 lvls will stay, or change over time. I know im only lvl 3 (which took me surprisingly some time, unlike AoC where i lvled in 10 in that amount of time.
Comments
they where probably talking some bs
also the game become amazong in the teens. so wait till then
I dont understand the obssession people have to be triping over ppl al over the place, Sure there is not as much players as say in Ironforge or so,but thats because people are busy questing , crafting and what not.
VAnguard is not a game where you just rush to cap level and then stay at the bank/auction house yawning of boredom. Its a game to take easy and enjoy. So do just that and stop getting worried if you not constantly see players. They are there trust me.
Revise your opinion at level 20, then we will talk.
I agree with the above statements. Why is it that people find it so difficult to understand that something could have been designed to not only enjoy visually, but it might actually take some adventuring, exploring, crafting diploing and so on. In real life we come in to the world naked and as we get older and experience life, we find what we are good at and apply it to our life. This game is not so different. You start with few skills and abilities, but as you progress, you discover what your strong points are and apply them to the adventure for best success. Theres more than having max levels, skills and abilities. This game was designed around some thinking and strategy. Especially as you progress, you will see this is true. Early on, its very easy to solo. As you hit 20-30's, grouping becomes a factor in dungeons. 30-40's start to integrate puzzles and some thinking to acquire or pop mobs. And finally, 40-50's integrate them all, with strategies to accomplish goals and making successful kills of named mobs, instead of a mad zerg fest of everyone screaming "KILL, KILL, KILL". Sit back, enjoy the ride, smell the roses along the way and whatever other cliche may apply. Its not a race to the finish, but the quality of the adventure getting there.
Good luck and PEACE!!
I have made it to level 7 today and began my adventures as a diplomat.
I have spent over 3-4 hours today playing the quests for diplomacy and leveling that up, currently sitting on level 4.
100 people? maybe the pvp server?
Yea it was on the PvP server and indeed that time there were less than 100 peeps online.
Just resubed on VG as well and i was on that discussion too(nick Nerfz).
No doubt its a different game now than what it used to be,it runs smoothly on my rig to speak for myself(high settings and decent fps 30+ no matter what).
The only let down tho its the population, you kinda loose the "MMO" feeling when you meet noone for hours or just 1 or 2.SOE should consider some smart ways to promote its products. The game is playable and fun,its a shame to have such a game without players..
My 2$..
Sony has been offering server transfers off of the PVP server for the last couple months, but stopped recently.
My GUESS is that they may be trying to free up the server to maybe use it for the Trial Island. This is only a guess!!
PVP is admittedly not a high point in VG. Maybe Sony will address this, but there has been no discussion of this from Silius (Lead Dev), just an admission that it is lacking and there are too many other things they want to get done.
If you can do without the PVP, the other 3 servers have a good population base. Do not be discouraged in the starting areas either. People move away from them quickly (I feel like a broken record having to repeat this over and over, but seems like it i necessary).
Good luck and PEACE!!
i got level 7 in an hour just doing the quests.
What method did you use (or the other chatters) to figure there were 100 people online?
What server was it?
You tried the ranger to what level, 3? What other classes did you try and to what level? What are you expecting a class to be like at level 3?
What sort of playstyle do you typically like?
What sort of MMO do you typically like?
What do I think of your comments? Sounds like you don't like the game all that much and don't have the patience for it.
Speed of level is irrelevent if you don't like the game. Obviously AoC, despite its faster leveling, didn't hook you if you are here. What's it been out for, two or three weeks and you are already game hopping?
to me it just seems like a waste if the only reason you're playing is to get to max level.
