Looking for a new MMORPG to play (maybe)

I need some advice please people. I find myself in the position that no doubt many of you have found yourselves in previously. I'm taking a minor break from a game and in the meantime my curiosity makes me wander to have a look at what other games are out there. Let me detail the situation: >>>>>

I guess you might say I am new to MMORPGs. I've only ever played one - Runescape - but I've given that hours of my life and have reached a commanding level, plenty of wealth, ability to do most things the game has to offer that I'm interested in, made many friends, explored the whole world and so on. >>>>>

Now I know many of you will say "Runescape??? why have you been wasting your time with that?" The short answer is - it's the only one I know and ignorance has been bliss for me. But it's also worth saying that it has the following strengths which I like about it - good game concept, some interesting narratives, very userfriendly, very sociable, the ability to do loads of trading, good variety of skills to level up, ever increasing content with new updates happening frequently. (The graphics are all that but then graphics are a minor element in what makes a good game.) These are the things I have enjoyed about the game and in the next game I play I would be looking for the same, albeit with a bit of a twist and / or improvement. >>>>>

Anyway, I've been looking at perhaps Ever Quest II as a new game to play when it comes out. Given the things I like about Runescape, would people who've played both think it worth my while trying it? I really need some guidance here as I don't know much about the other options out there. >>>>>

Thanks in advance >>>>>

Errrr thanks. I checked out Tibia and it really does seem very crap. (Runescape has been updated considerably lately - don't know if you're aware of that.) Not very helpful but thanks anyway.

I pay for Runescape and am happy to pay for whatever new game I decide on. I should point out, in case it isn't obvious, I am not looking for a crap game to play!

I don't get it. How can you be not looking for a crap game and simultaneously looking at EQ2?

I would say surf this site and make up your own mind if i wanted to be a post whoring asshole like these two image

You need to state what type of game you like playing.

I play Neocron (soon to be NC2) , SWG and Planetside and will be trying FOM because i like FPS style games, Im also tempted to try City of Heroes but im not that keen atm

Apart from that i cant help you because i only play this type of first person game where i can engage in PVP

Try getting yourself Ultima Online copy, there is LOADS of _free_ servers, and all difrrent kinds. PvP / RP / etc. There are sites, where are top 100 servers etc. UO was my first MMORPG, and I got hooked in that game. image

If you want to p2p, I think www.mmorpg.com is right site for you then image Check out the game list.

I've always been fond of DAoC, decent lvling rate, nice comunity, and RvR is a blast (which with battle grounds for low lvls you can start RvRing in no time).  But it really comes down to what you like so saying that I have to agree with everyone else and say look around the site to see what you like, but look close at DAoC ;)
