E&B good ? not in my opinion look!

ok the reason I did not like E&B was because of the travel distances between places to do quests, also they had all that open space and not a lot of content to fill all the space up. So in my opinion E&B isn't that great of a game, i am not trying to bash game for those who love it but all it is going around in a big open area with no content and try to do quests which are boring go to blah blah and then get blah blah and bring it back to me. I don't know i just don't like the gameplay, but the concept of traveling in space seems cool. I played for 2 months wasn't enjoyable, just my opinion post if you got comments or opinions about the game too.

I did the beta on that game, and haven't been more exciting about any MMO since. Too bad I was only 17 years old at the time and had no money or CC :(

If the game was still there, I would've played it right now.

You say that you are irritated about the space and the lack of content to fill it up... well excuse me, but that's exactly what it is, SPACE. It's supposed to be vast and empty :D

Space is not a place where you can just settle down anywhere and expect ppl to live there in prospect. You have to consider things as food, water, oxygen (or methane, depends on your molucair basis) and those are just the primary things a being needs to live.

Sure you can fill up every square with spacestations, gasclouds, planets, suns and rcoks.. but that's just not realistic. If that would've been our universum, then we never had the need to even look beyond our own solarsystem!

Even if it was filled like that, then there was also no change for diversity, every solarsystem would look the same, cuz you'd have a base, planet, sun, asteroids, clouds and mobs everywhere... would there still be a need to travel at all?

And yes, the distances... I enyojed nothing more but to take a few newbies with me to show them around if I had to go anywhere anyway. On the way you can chat a bit and excange experience, and you can also receive some of the experience they get when they fly with you. I've never had a MMO where it was REWARDING (truly) when you showed someone around or helped him with this or that!

So, when you are looking for more excitement and action on-the-double, I advise you to buy a nice Singleplayer FPS game like doom or UT and forget about MMO's :) Nothing offensive, but you really need to have a realistic view and a whole lot of patience to get somewhere in a MMO.

    Love,

PS, Just for the record, next to EVE, is there ANY game similair to E&B?

They might have made the space travel a little more interesting with the chance of random events during hyperdrive.  Perhaps an engine breaks down, or there is a collision with another player, or the ship hits a small asteroid and wipes out, or an NPC beacon requesting rescue is sent or something like that.  Just a small chance per hyperflight (maybe 1%), but enough to keep you on your toes.

Ok i see where you are coming from. But who really wants to travel in darkness with asteroids and dust and planets, what fun is that. You really have to be a zombie to play this game. That is why this game is going to have to close down. Becuase the lack of content and the gamplay wasnt even that exciting. It isnt what you like it is what the majority likes and the majority doesnt like flying in darkness with roks and planets = no fun

LOL *laughs and anti eb posters*

They DID add stuff to make travel less tedious!!

They added mobs that could summon you out of warp, because people were complaining about travel being boring, but then those same people complained about it being to dangerous (go figure) ya,

Then they added push missions, youd be flying allong and all of a sudden youd get hailed from an NPC in dire need of your help, the first ones sucked, and were go feth! missions, but they got ALLOT better, like you would need to go save an NPC ship that was being attacked by pirates! or being slaugtered my other space mobs, those got started and running good, then the game decided to call it quits,

Im not necessarily refers to you guys in this part, but in enb, those who whined, whined no matter what, you couldnt make them happy, they whined about not enough content, so they got content, then not enough of something else, it was a giant cycle, they were the only bad thing in the game IMO

You know in retrospec I think EnB was my first MMO, but it was a godsend. First of all it was space based. Second it required you to work with your fellow gamers to achieve higher rewards since each class had its specific abilities that it contributed to the group. Third it rated very high on the "Fun" factor, ship customisation, the ability to leave your ship and interact with other gamers, unique crafting abilities to foster player interaction and interdependence. The list can go on for quite a while as I'm sure there were aspects that each of us found to be unique and could add as well.

The announcement that EA was closing the game was heartbreaking since there were friends that we made that we've all lost track of and for that EA will never be forgiven. I too tried Eve and found it completely lacking, the community from the very start were pitted against each other, point and click ship control, forced PvP, rare materials imposible to attain without accepting the eventual loss of everything you had work to gain. Eve has proven one thing in that you can't mix PvP and PvE play styles in the manner they've choosen to, EnB did manage to have both styles available without ruining a players online experience.

I really would like to be able to get the Emulator up and running on my computer but I lack the tech skill to make it happen, maybe one day but not today. To the OP, EnB wasn't your cup of tea, well Eve wasn't mine, there are plenty of folks that do like Eve and thats fine for them. For those of us that actually played EnB, it was and will always be a great game.
