At least in the server I'm playing at the goldsellers have been mostly rooted out. Haven't had but maybe 2 gold selling spam letters in mailbox after christmas, and no marketing spam in any ingame channel either. This in EU-RP server.
No idea how Turbine is handling goldselling, but at least Codemasters have been pretty thorough in their effort in getting rid of it. Of course that needs some action from players part as well in reporting the goldsellers.
Are you looking to open a chinese sweat shop to sell platz and PLs?
lol no sorry i just started playing and wondered how effected the game is with out of game sales. Also what the GMs do to stop it?
Heh. Thought you were one of those botz.
I'm sure there are websites out there. I know one of the things they do to stop the spamming is that trial accounts can't send tells. I don't know of anything else beyond that.
I saw yesterday in chat someone advertising power-leveling for hire. Why would anyone want that? And it would be nice not to see it in-game. I'm hoping the GM's caught it, or at least, keep it down to a minimum.

Thanks! I will next time. I wasn't sure if it was allowed, but felt it wasn't. Now I know how to report it anyway.
