Looking for non-PvP soloable game w/good graphics

MordothMordoth Member UncommonPosts: 65

I've not been playing an mmo's in almost 2 years after I got bored with WoW.  Looking for a game that you can solo effectively, has good graphics, doesn't require PvP, and raiding isn't required to get the best stuff.  I like customization of my character and immersion as well.  Like a game world I can explore, like in Morrowind.

I've just been kicking around with PC Games like The Witcher, NWN2 MoB, Oblivion, stuff like that since I quit WoW.  Just got tired of all the grinding and repetative raiding in WoW to get the best stuff.

I'm open to a regular PC Game as well as MMO's.  My computer is pretty decent, so can handle most of the newer games well.

AMD Phenom 9600 Quad Core 2.5

2 gigs RAM

ATI Radeon HD3870's in Crossfire

780 watts PSU

etc.

Get Mass Effect for the PC. It's in the same spirit of the games you listed.

I really can't recommend an MMO out there right now that's non-grindable.

Yeah, it's hard to find a game that remains interesting for as long as you play it.

I was following a game Trials of Ascension that has shut down, that was disappointing.

Looking for the same mate - played too much of F2P games (I've just uninstalled Cabal  2 mins ago - as an example). as well as P2P - WoW and others...

I'm playing old games from the late 80s and 90s (even 2K) but they're short in longivity wich is normal for that time period.

I'm longing for WAR since I've been playing the pen and paper RPG when I was younger as also Games Worshop table-top games... Still nothin that really kicks me...

Hope some people don't have the same problem as us - AoC might be big but there's still lots of things to be accomplich for that game to be good or so I've heard in various sites and forums

    Anyway, cheers ...

I think Lord of the rings online has most of that.  Great graphics, a great world to explore.  Pvp is not mandatory.  There is some raiding towards the end, and some quests need groups, but in general it has what you want.

I'd already decided I wanted to play Mass Effect, it's downloading while I am at work.  But I do miss having chat channels to chat with people while I'm gaming, even if I tend to solo a lot in MMO's.  I may check out the LoTR, they have a trial.

I'm looking for a persistent world however, so I don't think I'd like Guild Wars.  On the suggestions stickies, EQII comes up a lot, and I did play it for a short while, but seemed like it required grouping.   I'm not opposed to grouping, but I don't like being forced to it.  I played a Warlock in WoW to level 60, mostly solo, just joined groups for the Warlock quests that had to have a group, like Epic Mount for instance.  And I really disliked being forced to find a group for things that applied only to my class, etc.

if you played EQ2 a while back i believe they have made significant changes to improve soloability.  but i could be wrong.  if you had an account dont forget you probly have 2 free months sitting on your station account right now.  might be worth a try.

i have not tried LOTRO just because im too attached to the lore to actually enjoy playing it as a game.

now i will also say have you tried vanguard?  i got the limited edition off ebay for 15$ that gave me a free month to play.  they have made tons of improvements, but there are still issues.  /shrug for what the game offers im willing to live with those for now.  also, the community is incredibly mature, helpful and friendly for the most part.  its the first mmo after SWG that i miss when i leave it for any amount of time.  if you do decide to try it, get on the Seradon server as its the most populated.

im like you.  i like to hunt and gather and explore.  its what i fell in love with in preCU SWG.  i didnt feel i was doing that in EQ2, AoC, or even WoW.

Well, it looks like it's going to be a while before I join a new MMO.  I got Mass Effect over the weekend and I'm already hooked.  LOVE it.

So I'm putting my quest for a new MMO on hold.  I'm kinda keeping my eye on Chronicles of Spellborn at the moment anyway.  But their release date keeps getting pushed back.

    Thanks for the replies.

Hellgate london, I've just been playing it for the last 5 days solid,(yes about 8hrs each day) on solo which is level 1 to 30 and i belive I can get to level 50 online,( althou I havent gotton there yet,(I'm running one of each class 7 x classes) and everything you ask for I've found in this game, It looks really cool, has a nice mixed of classes that stray from the norm, I'm not running back for heals all the time, for  $30 bucks it's a lot of fun.

    Hope this helps.
