and if so what are your settings and how is the game play?
hehe...the minimum settings are minimum. Im pretty sure if you play under the minimum settings you'll not be able to even load the game without it crashing or having it at low settings at about 3 fps lol
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
I run everything with the minimum specs pretty much except the RAM I have 2GB and it barely runs. Like I can not imagine have any lower of a configuration and my setup is as follows:
X1600512MB
2.0GHZ Duo Core Intel
2GB RAM
100GB HD
I can't imagine running it with any less than this because it is just past barely playable as is. I'm praying for more optimizations because it's rough.

Wrong, the minimum specs are NVIDIA 6600GT, they are same generation as the X800 cards from ATI which aren't mentiond in the minimum specs but they do work. The ATI generation beforen that, the old mighty ati 9800 pro even works with about 10 frames, I tested it
ATI 9800 pro (read ATI and not the new NVIDIA cards, the ATI is at least 4 years old, comparable with a high end, geforce 5 card)
Running with less then that will get you no where.
A friend of me has a 7950GT 4GB of ram ( 2GB is enough tho ) and 2,8ghz Athlon, and he runs the game on low and in towns and instances he regularly drops to 10 FPS.
And I am 100% confident his system is tweaked perfectly, he can run Bioshock or Unreal Tournament 3 just fine.
I'd say that the minimum to actually enjoy the game is a 7900GTX a Dual Core CPU and 2GB of RAM.
The engine is a beast, and while it provides nice visuals, it is not a good engine, because the requirements are not in line with the visuals.
I hope they will tweak it for my friends and guildies sake, I just assembled my 2 x 8800 GTS 512MB SLI system with a Quad Core 3Ghz @ 1600FSB, 4GB of DDR3 @ 1600mhz and 2 x 150GB raptors. And yes now I finally have nice FPS ( A single 8800GTS 512MB wasnt enough to run everything maxed @ 1680 x 1050 )

because i have used this set up for years i can deal with the lag. it runs ok (a tad skippy occationally) and you get used to the extra long load times (add an extra minute for every load screen for textures and whatnot).
its playable you just have to get used to it
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
Well I decided to get the game a few days after and been busy ingame so havn't had a chance to post but I've been impressed with the way my system has handled AOC i'm getting 10fps in town and 15 - 30 out in the zones questing/grinding. So far up to my late twenties
the game for me is playable about 20 to 31 fps on low, when i had 512 mb of ram the game only ran at about 10 to 12 fps on low, big improvement for me. Also I'm using an iMac running xp on bootcamp
how much fps are you getting? my friend has a similar rig and wants to know.
If your asking me I stated, 10fps in town and 15-30fps outside of town. Also I should have stated I have a 40gb harddrive so AOC is basicly the only thing I have installed other than the OS itself.
I wrote a review about AoC (See it HERE). I wrote specifically about the specs and the statemed minimum specs. Min specs are set way too low. I wager that upgrading the vid card will give you the most bang for the buck

AMD 64 3800+ 2,4ghz (1 core)
2GB of ram
80gb 7200rpm HDD
8800GTS 320MB
medium 1280*1024 15-30fps
I'm running right at, or just below minimum on some comps at 10fps, 30fps in solo instances.
AMD 3100+ Sempron (3.1 ghz rated single core processor)
1.5gb ddr400 ram
ATI x1300 pro (agp)
I really wouldn't recommend playing it on anything less... I have it set on low, water reflection off and shadows off.
