in Darkfall

Quick question that will probably determine weather i get Darkfall or not:

 

Will there be in Roleplay specific servers?

The reason this determines weather i play or not, is the simple fact that roleplaying communities are generally way friendlier and more fair than to a casual gaming community. If we are only given a PvP server in darkfall, all the roleplayers are just gonna get ganked the whole time and cities will be ruled by leetkiddies, or people who have no care for Roleplay.

 

So, will there be RP servers? or will i have to give up on this awesome looking game?

    i think you should worry more about the game actually comming out than the servers

    There will only be one ruleset.  PvE, RP, and other rulesets have been ruled out.  Saying that, you can RP on any server.  You just have to find like minded individuals and ignore other people as much as possible.

    I'm guessing yes ... but that's just a guess. The official Darkfall forums have a RP section and most other mmorpg's that I know of also have RP servers ... so I'd be surprised is there were no RP servers in DF.

    Yea i see what you mean, but it looks like its quite possibly gonna release, at least by the end of next year anyway.

     

    But without an RP server i aint buying the game, in a game where you can kill anyone and everyone at any time, those leetkiddies can actually kill us instead of ruining RP, which will be hard to ignore..

    There will be only one server at launch, target concurrency is 10,000 players.

    I have no problem playing the normal game up until it gives an RP server, that way i get some experience of the game, but i want to know if they will release an RP server.

    Just a question no bad thoughts indended but i played more then 5 years now 2  different sanbox style games with every playstyle on same server  and it was a really great experience for everyone.

    A everyone tries a bit of anything anvironment  and it is great. 

    DarkFall is announced as very PvP centric so the point of a non PvP DarkFall  server is a bit  weird at least or maybe already a joke ...:P

    hehe yeah, it seems kind of funny when you put it that way =D

     

    But still, Rper's enjoy PvE and PvP aswell, heck im an extreme PvPer on every other game ive played, but having an RP server wont stop people enjoying the game anyway, from the style of it and how its made, it really looks like it was built for RP with all the realism in it.

    The game should do well from an RP perspective, as long as you can handle getting ganked from time to time - because you will get ganked.  A server specifically for RP is very unlikely, IMO.

    There won't be a RP server. you can get to official darkfall forum and search for thread and quote about it if you want official dev's words.

     

    Also, what the hell would be different from a RP server to a normal server? The RP at the end if his name?

    Not really much and depends a lot on how much the company running the game really enforces the RP rule set.  Usually a RP rule set will include things like naming rules, keep in character while you chat in public channels, etc.

    I don't think it will be to hard to find a rp guild.Even though there are probaly not be rp servers this game looks very rp friendly to me.I thank i read somewhere you can make your own laws in your city and alot of cool stuff like that.

    Do yourself a favor: play a game that exists.  If you want to play a game, play one.  Darkfall isn't a game, it's a website with a crappy forum.

    Do yourself a favor: play a game that exists.  If you want to play a game, play one.  Darkfall isn't a game, it's a website with a crappy forum.

     

     

    Ignoring the Troll and to answer your question. Due to one large world(very very large) which will consist of a large cluster of servers that make up the world.

    The idea is people do what people want to do but the world is large enough to cater for all, without enforcing on other play types. So there will be no enforcement but you can play as you like restrict your city to roleplayers only and so it goes on and on.

    The DF setup will cater for all styles... So you can maintain youre own environment free from people who don't interest you the guards will deal with them. And the results could be great with respect to people roleplaying because you have good markets in your city.

    Under pain of our goods for sale you will RolePLay could be quite amusing.

    What's it matter?  Thery will have about 1 server  which crashes all the time and has 12 people on it playing.
