Lots of dungeons?

I'm more a PVE player than PVP, although I can do both, and I really enjoy deep dark dungeons in games.

Does Warhammer have lots of cool dungeons, on par with or better than DAOC, for example?

From what i understand and expect...yes  however think of public quests as sort of dungeons (different steps on a long quest)

But yes, there will be dungeons however the dungeons are not instanced like in WOW, and i think they will be like DAoC in a since that they are a different zone but not instanced (until the final boss)

Actually there ARE instanced Dungeons..and Open World Dungeons (where only the boss is private) but they've spoken more about the purely Instanced ones like the Skaven Instance you can open up through Altdorf.  Several dungeons only open up inside the cities when the cities reach a certain level and they are not public.  WAR how oever does not support Raid Dungeons.  All dungeons are Six Man.

Its been so long since they've mentioned the public dungeons with the private boss that I'm wondering if they're really in the game or only at certain Tiers.

Whatever they are I hope they are better than DAoC's. About 3-4 months ago I re-upped my DAoC to check out Cats and the new Mino expansions and the dungeons were terrible. The mobs just stood there unless you walked right on top of them and they didn't even move.

I'm going to be playing Warhammer for the RVR, not PVE but these days the PVE needs to at least be somewhat interesting. I know I'll be doing some PVE to level and I'd really like it to have decent AI and the dungeons not seem like poorly created chess tables with non-moving pieces.

I found many of the original DAOC dungeons (not from later expansions( to be among the best dungeons since EQ1. They required careful movement, pulling, and group tactics. Best of all, with other people running around and going crazy, you got to see the good olde "TRAIN!" comments. :)

Have they said that all dungeons are 6 man groups . I only remember them saing that the highest endgame dungeons, purely PvE, is for 6 man.

And what have they said about the king encounter

I miss "TRAINS" in dungeons.  Trains are the poor man's PVP in a sense (The PVE'r's PVP, I guess).

They've said it Multiple times they're not doing Raid Dungeons all dungeons are 6 man.   Just the one or two they've discussed happen to be high end ones.   They've been relatively secret about how many dungeons there are in the game.  I'm betting we'll get a big newsletter post on them sometime before launch.  Since dungeons, more crafting, and some career paths are all thast left to hype on.

The king encounter is not a dungeon...its an Instance and they're the only 24 man instances they did this to allow everyone a shot at the king.

The regular dungeons worked fine, I was talking about Catacombs dungeons. They were all like zombie AI. It was terrible and boring as all get out.

Someone did ask them a while back if there will be a darkness falls type dungeon(high level PvE Dungeon which connected the realms, allowing for interesting and fun RvR encounters). They said yes.
