Lack of DPS early on?

It seems like a considerable amount of people want to play tanks (myself Included). Are the majority of people rolling Defensive or Offensive Tanks. I would really like to roll the heaviest Defensive build possible however (yeah, leveling with a shield), if the servers will be overrun with tanks I will play a ranged magic dps (eeek dps). Thoughts? Comments?

LOL what a turn of the tables! Usually people hate tanking. No, I think there will always be sufficient DPS, and since most of WAR's classes sound like they have a primary role but can also DPS I think there won't be any problems.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

Actually from what I've read about the classes, I think there's going to be an average amount of players for all the classes. Mainly because they are all so cool. Basicly you got to just play how you want, there's a type of tank for everybody. Don't worry, there'll be plenty of DPS running around, frankly I would worry more if there wasn't enough Defensive Tanks protecting me (runepriest). If you want a better answer try to be more specific in your questions and I'll probably find a better answer.
I'm not worried. We'll see a healthy smattering of all classes. Once people settle into the game we will undoubtedly see FOTM classes, which will almost certainly be DPS classes.
Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.
Oh phew. Just as long as I don't have to DPS. That would be a shame. Waste of my glorious tanking talents.
yeah, finally some real defensive tanks in an MMO. Orc's defensive tank can push nearby allies out of danger (think thats right) while Dwarf defensive tanks get more powerful if you attack nearby allies. Supposedly the Human defensive tank will have some kind of auras. Interestingly, Chaos's tank can go for defense or offense but will probably just scare everybody away. Don't now much about the elves but sure they got a couple of tricks with their tanks.
Well I had initially planned on playing a Chaos Chosen, but since examining the skill trees *cough*, and seeing this particular screenshot, I have got to put myself back in the Black Orc camp. Gotta Say the size there against a Chosen really throws it for me. Black orc's will be the Heavy Tank, and i'll play it, if tanks are in demand. If not i'll dps or go (OH NO) Order side.

Gotta Say the size there against a Chosen really throws it for me. Black orc's will be the Heavy Tank, and i'll play it, if tanks are in demand. If not i'll dps or go (OH NO) Order side.
Yeah the Orc looks like a REAL tank, good! But I do like the Chosen's axe, the style and colors blend together pretty well. And I prefer the Chosen's armor but only because it's more ornate.

As far as the Dark Elves go, the Black Guards are the offensive tanks of the destruction side,and use a build-up of hate,as they are the mirror of the Ironbreakers.The mechanic is just flipped. Black Guards receive hate from, themselves and group members attacking, which they can use to boost DPS or save and boost Defense.
To me they sound very deadly,so I will very much enjoy slicing through the weakling order players on a regular basis.
I plan to make my Black Guard with a mixture of all the masteries,as I strongly believe that the battles we will fight in this game will be very dynamic and ever-changing,so for me,I will be able to handle any change that may show it's self.

From what i have read, choas chosen are defensive. heavly armored and have some kind of auras that give them some buffs. its the marauders that do the damage. not heavily armored, but their arms turn into swords and axes!!!!!
and where did you get a look at the skill trees jzuska??
