Seems like it. Even AOC fanboys know their favourite game is like VG a year ago. They just aren't ready to admit it yet. But they feel it. That's why I'm not surprised by these out-of-the-blue comparisons.
but.. but.. the item is level 20! OK, so it only has +0.1 to defense despite being at least 10 levels higher than the stuff you got in the tutorial zone. The item's level makes you feel better though, right? Isn't that worth a treasure chest?

Yes ....... but just look at the graphics. The way the mud texture has splattered against the chest and then dried. The ground texture is to die for ...... normal mapping I think ..... very professional. Just look at the detail of the helmet that has fallen out of the chest, the white with green highlights just sets it off. Absolutely fantastic shading and lighting ....... the shadows are perfect. Most certainly the best graphics in an MMO to date.

I am going to have to disagree. I am pretty sure the contents of that garbage bin are alot more useful than any item you get out of a chest in AoC.

To us crafters we see things like that Blue Chest Piece and laugh, Because we know there is only one way you will get better.

picking on Vanguard is like beating up on a passed out wino. As I recall though Vanguard in beta at least had a much better loot system than AoC does.

That is a funny joke though. Occasionally I will see a chest beside a tent or in the corner of a dungeon and I don't even bother opening it. My curiosity has been squelched.

i'll say this first, the loot definately feels crappy or not enough etc
However, the loot is actually 100% (in my opinion) on par with all other loots lol. Random mobs i'd say 50% will drop something, usually something stackable from whatever type of mob, and some white gear, with the occassional chest dropping with a green in it (they need to make potions white or take them out of those chests and put them into normal bags for loot) and the even rarer blue drop, it seems perfectly even and parallel with all the other looting amounts and types in pretty much all mmos
