Choosing a class

I was a FFXI lover it was the only mmorpg i ever fell in complete love with, but AOC looks interesting and I want to give it a try

On FFXI I loved my ranger, theif, and darknight I pretty much love damage and cool looking armor :)

I was just wondering anyones input on what classes i might like or classes that you enjoy playing and why

thanks

Hrm, if you like ranger they have a ranger. Ranger isnt bad to play either. There is also a few class overviews posted on various sites as well.

As for cool looking armor, the appearences are a tad sparse at the moment

I had no trouble in PvE with mine, seemed to still be a killing machine (though gave up on the game at 37). Spent more time using my sword and rarely using my bow.

PvP I heard they do well, but for now PvP is gank or be ganked.

    Not exactly.

Zones will have limits on them and will create a copy of the zone when it hits the cap for players. So you will end up in an instanced version of the zone with others.

If you ever played CoH at launch, its more like that.

You will still see others, there just wont be a billion and one people in the same instance as you, more like less than/more than 100.

after level 20.......it feels very close to wow from level 20-40 (pretty muich exactly but different setting and better graphics) unless your on a pvp server then it seems more interesting

p.s. go for a pvp server at the end of the month they are "fixing" pvp...adding pvp levels and punishment for gankingand rewards for killing gankers and being active in normal pvp (unless you dont like pvp then go with pve its also fun but is a little too WoW for me)

I would say the game is a lot of fun to play at the moment and that it has huge potential.

What reviews have you been reading? Here's a summary of reviews:
