The expansion puts everyone back on the same playing field again so no it's definately not too late to join.

After playing countless p2p and f2p games, I figure I'll try WoW again (played till lvl 17 and quit a couple yrs ago)

My god has horns.... nah, I don't think he is real either.

Even after WOTLK is out, it still won't be too late to start.

Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

It will never be too late to start WoW. You can solo to the heavens if you need to get to a high enough level to start doing the good instances...and that aside there are always lowbies that you can group up with if need be.

    Terrible lie.

I have to admit, I got lured to WoW by my friends and played it for 2 weeks about a month ago. I was counting the bugs I encountered:

    • 2-3 per hour Mob didn't move. When I ran off, it says "evade" and healed to full health.
    • 5+ per hour Mob didn't move, when I ran off, it was still hitting me. But I couldn't attack back. It sayd out of range. When I moved back to where I saw it, I could hit it.
    • 0-1 per hour Mob I couldn't see was attacking me.
    • Very frequent in some zones: Mob was attacking me through walls and I couldn't attack back
    • 2-3 per hour I killed a mob, and I stayed in combat. I couldn't rest and I couldnt mount up.
    • 1-2 per hour When I tried to loot a mob, my char stayed in a weird bugged position. I couldn't loot it and had to logged out.
    • Escort quest in searing gorge bugged in the middle. The NPC stopped moving

All together, there was about 20 bugged situations that appeared every hour. Maybe you are used to these combat, loot bugs, or the invisible/unmovable mobs, but please DON'T tell me this game is bugfree and polished. It's been 4 years out, and is bugged more than many other lately released games. Of course, I left the game after 2 weeks. In WoW there is actually far more grind, than it is in VG or Lotro.

Hahaha thillian, trully you are living in another world.  Why did you go back to wow???  You detest it then for months procliamed Vanguard wass the best mmo, what happened to Vanguard.  Thillian get a grip and maybe stop jumping form mmo to mmo.

Everything you say about wow just cannot be believed, really you spew so much crap its untrue.

Seriously, I appreciate your interest in me as a person and what kind of games I like.

Iam usually subscribed to 3-5 mmo's at the same time and if you would be interested I can tell you my life-story and explain you why do I have so much time to play.

Anyway I did subscribed to WoW for 2 weeks with a hope I might enjoy some parts of it for some time with my friends, but i didn't. I left it basically immediately and one of the reasons were the mob-bugs that ocasionally even made me die.

Vanguard is still my main MMORPG.

Bugs? Where did you encounter them? What area? I find this really hard to believe, being that I've played the game for over 3 years and have yet to encounter the number of bugs that encountered  in 2 weeks.... sound like use error in my opinion. Besides two weeks is an awfully short time to fully review a game, and then come on this forum and post about it. What I find even more funny is that you chose Vanguard over WoW due to bugs lol, irony at its best.

Level up, experience the content, hit endgame, cancel subscription.

It's a fun game to level in, but the endgame is quite the bore.  Arenas are a joke.  Battlegrounds get olds fast.  Only 4 of them.

Don't waste your time acquiring gear at endgame for hour upon hours cause once that next expansion game comes out you replace it in a 5 minute quest.

It used to be good.  The best of the world is behind us and it's just going to be them sucking the lore dry, killing off more great characters, until the game eventually widdles away.

WoW fanboi: "lolz 11.5 million customers, itz obviously da best"

McDonald's: over 1 billion burgers served

...Honestly, could one legitimately say that it is too late for a WOW NOOB to start playing? I'm talking no alts, no real experience, nothin'. Or is it all cool?
How many of "me" are out there at this point? Should I move on to something newer instead?

I can honestly say, that WoW is one of the most noob friendly games out there.  You can start it at anytime and you would be all set.  There arent as many new players as their used to be, but there is still quite a bit out there. Since the expansions raise the level caps and the gear requirements for certain things, you would star playing at a great time.  If your a fast leveler you could prob get 1-2 70's before the new expansion comes out that raises the cap to 80. I think overall the games ive played out there, I think Blizzard gets what most players want overall, and they also add alot of free content in the game that doesnt require you to pay for it.

If you are new to WOW and like playing on a pvp server check out Cho'gall and look up Saucy Puppet Show, they are a nice friendly guild, that is raiding and they dont mind helping out new players.

It's never too late to join WOW. You can solo to 70 with just quests in about a week. The only trouble is, you have to go straight to the top to enjoy any group content, because most people with a main character won't condescend to do "old content" (ie lowbie dungeons) even with their alts. They just quest up to 70 and start all the new stuff.

As I said, never too late to start. The questions is, why would you? Just go read some books or play basketball or ride your bike and wait for a better game, that is unless you like endless loot grinds which leave you with loot that becomes obsolete faster than computer hardware, especially with another max level raising expansion coming out.

Trammies need to stop polluting the MMORPG landscape. They already have enough games in which to emote hugs and sell garbage by the banks.

I just want to state that what Wearacup is stating that no one levels in lower level instances is incorrect.  That is purely based on his experiance on his server.  The reason I state this, is because on my server I noticed alot of people who have alts, or new players in general always get groups to run instances.  If you shout a request to do a certain dungeon 90% of the time depending on your class you will get a group to run something.  However he is also right that some people dont bother, but most people do.  Not everyone cares for the end game content, alot of players like to play many different characters 1-cap multilple times.

It is never too late to start on WoW. Since its release I have quit and came back several times often starting all over from level 1 on a new server. Not being in a raid guild never bothered me as I loathe raiding and so far the vast majority of the raiding community. Though there was a raiding guild on the Thorium Brotherhood server that was actually full of good people. Recently started over in WoW again as there is nothing around I want to play atm. Wish DAoC still had a vibrant community that was a truly great experience a few years ago.
