Completing Newb Missions?

BlueCadwalBlueCadwal Member Posts: 170

I just recently started FFXI again on the server Garuda.  The biggest problem that I am finding is that very few new players are entering and almost everyone playing FFXI has completed the low level missions.  How do you go about getting help for low level missions?  Do you just stand in town and shout for help?

Most of the low stuff can be solo'd. If you get into a linkshell, it's usually easier to get some of the actual fights done. The battle for rank 3 can pretty much be duo'd with the right setup and a couple of items. You shouldn't have much trouble getting help. There are quite a few people still low ranked and such. But why am I saying what has already been said?

Jup, linkshells are always effective way of getting groups together.....shouting is also a solid method, it does take some time to get certain quests or missions together, but there is a lot of stuff to do in that game, so if you have to wait too long for one thing, you can always be looking for another something to do also....if unless you're dead set on doing that one thing, haha then about all you can do is be persistent....

Do what I did, quit. I am now playing Metal Gear Solid 4 and ACTUALLY having fun. You'd be surprised how great life is once burdens have been lifted.

Hehe... maybe I'm just missing all the major time periods to find groups.  What times should I be looking for groups?  I logged in tonight just to reach Valkurm Dunes from Windurst, now I feel like I'm stuck there with nothing to do since I couldn't find any groups about.

The first one is kinda' iffy. The second one is usually the US prime time. I don't see why you'd be having much trouble. Though now, things should pick up now that it's summer.

I'd expect the first one to be the European prime time, but maybe there aren't as many Europeans playing as Americans and Japanese, which may be the case based off the 2008 census.

Also, it helps to shout in Jeuno or even better Whitegate.

    EVE - Sharvala
    FFXI - Shazamalicious
Guild Wars - Xavier Lucifer & Charlize the Necro

usually if you play in the early part of the day, there are alot of jap players on that cant even understand what your typing.  As for the newb missions, depending on what lvl you are, you can solo them yourself.

I always use the in-game translator for major stuff, so Japanese players probably understand me.  I partied with one earlier tonight, lol.

It can take 10 seconds to 3 days(lol?) to find a party depending on your job. and yes it can take some time to find help for mission, try being nice, make lots of friends and find yourslef a good LS.

try and do some search on the web, some server have a specific website for there server, you might find yourself a LS there , or there's also that thing on the ffxi website for linkshell, not to sure if many people  really use it since most LS already got there own webpage.

you can also look on ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html
