    Contest winners get invited to phase 3.
    Btw the NDA currently forbids telling that you have a beta account.

    Not true.  MMORPG.com contest winners will be in Phase 1 (the next phase after the Friends and Family) image  I have been told the ETA on this phase is 3-4 weeks from now.

    Phase 2: Long Term Subscribers etc. (NOW)
    Phase 3: Beta Contest Winners and regularly chosen people.

    Not true at all.. There's nothing in the NDA about informing if people your in the beta or not.  I was mainly asking because I was one of the people who failed to respond in time.  Wanted to know if I missed out on anything...  apparently it all worked out in the end.

    Ok, I'm sick and tired of people not reading the official forums, but telling others that they're wrong.
    So i'm gonna quote community guy faarwolf ONE LAST TIME:

    I don't know what the terms of their NDA are. I just know that ours includes not publicly stating that you're in beta.

    Well I can't link or cut and paste the NDA cause honestly I don't know if that's against the NDA but I do know there is nothing specific that states you can't tell anyone your in the Beta...  but maybe that's a grey area and like all NDA's it states they can remove you from the Beta at anytime for any reason.

    So I'll just stop posting.....

    Phase 1: Friends and Family
    Phase 2: Legends Players
    Phase 3: Long Term Players
    Phase 4: Everyone Else

    Phase 2 has just begun. The NDA allows you to state that you are in the Beta if asked directly, you are not allowed to state that you are in the Beta for gloating purposes.

    I think phase 2 is also LOE players since some non-legends people got invited.

    I think that LOE isn't 2nd phase, i think that their 3rd phase, i haven't found any info supporting that they are 2nd phase, and i have found just a little saying LOE isn't 2nd phase.   So i'm assuming that LOE is 3rd phase..................personally i don't care, i've got a few games i currently happy playing for a few weeks to a month.

    I've been an EQ1 subscriber since March of '99.  I never bought LOE but I did buy and play SWG for six months.  Was on legends for about a year in 2002.

    Yeah by the time we receive the beta account.  the game will be weeks away from release.

    MMORPG.com should be upset that they got shafted on their priority in the waiting line on their beta accounts.  Open beta cant be too far away.

    I have never played EQ and only read bits and bobs on here about it and followed Vanguard/DE/D & L more closely and was suprised to see beta acceptance in email.

    I am happy to be a tester cos at the moment for last few months i have been in limbo playing betas etc for average games i.e. Neocron DOY & Legend of Mir 3 etc.

    The one sad thing is i didnt realise till tonight after looking thru EQ2 forumns that there will be no pvp at launch or planned for the future(doesnt mean it wont be in ever just not planned at moment).

    I am happy and sad at same time.  My fondest memories are of UO PvP encounters, AC - Darktide ruled man and i was in Anti PvP Guild vs the Blood guys and finally DAoC realm vs realm was thrilling.

    Anyway hope to see u in there chaps.

    At least you will get into beta.

    What of folks who won DE and UOX.

    I got numerous stupid newsletters  and had like 4 reassurance from codemaster that the beta wins will be honored in the next few weeks(over a span of 4 months or so) to see nada.

    True.  I would of been upset over UXO.  Ultima is probably the ORIGINAL 3d role playing game for the computer.  But then again I dont think the same people who made Ultima 1 still are with Origin.  But it still would had the potential of possibly being good.

     

    Dragon Empires I think is a cliche game,  and not my type of cliche.

     

    Hopefully mmorpg.com will have better judgement in the future.

    Well mmorpg.com is one of the few sites that even bother to give us this type of contests.

    So even though i lost out by not getting my price i am still happy with what mmorpg.com does.

    You can't really blame them for all the $$$$ hungry companies bailing out because they see they will not make a gizillion $$$ anymore.

    MMORPG really didn't get shafted at all, just means it will be later that those who won a beta slot will get in.  I'm a long time eqlive subscriber since April 1999, and can say that so far only legends/LOE and few select others are in.  No, I'm not in beta, but his is a known fact on their website.  Also a few days ago it was stated Euro was getting invited for a few selected as well.

    hell no and i have given up . why the hell have a contest when ther is nothing to win(and i bought 14 copies of PC Gamer) I'm so mad ! Screw EQ2 im gonna play WOW. it will release sooner anyways and leave EQ2 far far behind(Blizzard is not stupid like SOE)

    You have to wait for the beta to start to be in the beta test.  i can say that the MMORPG winners got their emails, because i got mine!!

    Are you mad because you did a crazy thing like bought 14 copies of a magazine and are not in beta?

    I don't know what you really want from SoE.You did not get into beta get over it  rather then spam all over the place and run around with a suitcase load of identical magazines.
