Prove it.  Prove who spilled the beans.  Sue them when they have no jobs.  See my point?  As long as the statements were made anonymously, how can LA prove anything and win a suit against anyone?

This is what I keep saying, but not only that but if these comments are made anonymously these rumors could even be originating from people who just want to spread rumors... and video game websites are SO ready to look for whatever it is Bioware is working on they're willing to post anything.

With two deep pockets supporting development, its not surprising they are taking so long. If you can afford it you should release a complete, relatively bug free game, so as to not alienate your best fans, i.e. the people who buy the game at launch.

Okay, theme aside, BioWare planned 2009 as the launch year, it slipping a year isn't really a big deal. 2005 to 2010 is only 5 years from concept to release.

"Comments by EA's John Riccitello suggest that BioWare's MMO is being funded by EA and is due in 2010/11...
EA has seemingly admitted involvement in BioWare's mystery MMO project (now strongly believed to be a KOTOR 3 MMO), which suggests that both LucasArts and EA will pool their efforts in publishing the highly anticipated MMO project from the Austin, Texas based developer.

At a recent stock conference with investors, EA's CEO John Riccitello was referring to a list of 15 new intellectual properties in the publisher's pipeline when he let this slip:

"It's giving us strong new entries in online. For example, we're funding the MMO in Austin, which is helping us a lot." He went on to state that the MMO is slated for fiscal 2010/11 (i.e. between April 1st 2010 and March 31st 2011).

We've done a lot of head scratching and can't think of any other MMO projects that he might be referring to in Austin, or any other EA studios in that part of Texas other than BioWare.

It's now becoming one of the worst kept secrets in
gaming that BioWare's MMO project is based on the Knights of the Old Republic universe. When over 100 hundred LucasArts staff were made redundant earlier this month, whistle blowers leaked a number of unannounced projects under the LucasArts umbrella, one of which was a KOTOR 3 MMO under development at BioWare.

LucasArts, EA, and BioWare all working on a KOTOR MMO together - who'da thunk it?"

    Geez 2010 2011?  It's only 2008

There is no reason for them to STILL be keeping the MMO under wraps when everyone and their mothers of the gaming community already know they're working on one.Shitty pre-announcement hype, just announce it, chances are it'll be KOTOR + WoW level of polish thrown in, fucking lame.

The more I hear of it, the more disappointed I get. First this hislarious secrecy, like little girls with a totally superfluent secret for secret's sake, then this. I mean, who is really going to CARE 2011! I mean, I value quality like anyone else, but the question is, is it really wise to postpone a game that long? 2009 would have been a perfect time, people seeking something new after the flops of AoC and WAR became apparent then. =P

2011... is it in their nature to make us wait this long? I sense an unusual amount of fear on something as trivial as a MMORPG... ;)

So forgive me if this has been stated earlier in this thread, but I was looking over the original announcement of the MMO possibly being released in FISCAL year 2010/2011.  In the original post is is said that would start April 1 2010.  This seems to be a mistake.  I just reviewed EA's financial report (http://finapps.forbes.com/finapps/jsp/finance/compinfo/secfilings/SECFilings.jsp?tkr=ERTS and there fiscal year is drastically different than the calendar year.  As of April 1, 2008 they are in FISCAL year 2009, which means FISCAL year 2010 would actually be April 1, 2009.  Now I know that is still a long time to wait but in theory the game could release in less than 1 year.

There is quite a bit of scrolling you need to get to the part in which their fiscal year is stated; however, it is as clear as day to those you want to look that EA'a fiscal year ends March 31 every year meaning the company is in fact currently in FY09 and FY10 would begin April 1, 2009.  This can be confusing, but I personally work for a company that begins their fiscal year on June 1 meaning we are in FY09 as well even though there was still 6 months to go in calendar year 2008 at the time.  I decided to look into this partially because my degree is in finance, I spend much of my time pouring over reports like this, and I am really looking forward to this game whatever it might be.  I found it comical that a company would start their year on April Fool's Day.  Let's just hope we are not the fools here.

I'm gonna laugh if it's a Star Wars MMO set during the Clone Wars.  All of the same characters and places that have been beaten to death for the past 30 years?  What a great idea!
