Back to fight

I canceled my Lotro account a while ago, I liked the game but it had one problem (for me) The fights was a bit off, it had no feeling to it. Don't know if you know what I mean. I played a champion and the attacks made strange sounds and there were all matters of flashing colors and stuff. Didn't feel like the characters "connected" with the enemy. So my question is... Has there been any change to this lately? Is it possible to change the way battles look in the options maybe? What do you think about it?

Thanks

I think he means the critical hit notifiers.   These can be turned off in combat options I think.

    Thanks for the answers

Well it was a while ago so I'm far from sure that my description is accurate. But I remembered that I wasn't really satisfied with the combat. But as the game now tempts me (again) I just wanna research a bit first. Maybe I'll  test a trial if I can find one, although I have a character somewhere above level 30 that I want to use later on if I get back into the game.

How is the population this days? (Iplayed on the european RP-server) Has there been any modification to the character creation part? I remembered that there were many toons looking the same and there weren't that many things to choose from when you created him.

LoTRO combat was made safe because of the market they were going after, casual older mature players.  I personally prefered Turbine's AC2 and DDO combat over LoTRO's, but it is not a bad system.

Character creation was the one weak link I think LoTRO did slightly drop the ball on.   Especially since the game was geared toward the casual, RP crowd, this is something that those players take very seriously and they should have had quite a few more options to make yourself more unique.

I have yet to figure out the outfit system.  LOL    I guess I'm not looking in the right place.   I'll search the LOTRO forums later and see if somebody else asked this dumb question.

I did notice that the fight sequences were better since the beta I played.  It could be my imagination, but I like them fine.  I'm one of those casual gamers though, and hate pvp.

they did redo champs a few months ago also, more non stop action now since the mana regen problem isnt there. flashing colors i dont recall so much but the rep gear is definitely a better choice of gear for looks.

i dont feel they have added anything in recent months to keep me playing (dress up and useless hobbies like fishing if anything drove me to quit), i realized after getting over 1/2 the classes to level 50 that the reason i hadnt got the other classes there was...well infact i hated playing those classes. adding a new map was nice but on the note that "this game is meant for the more mature rp demographic"...this is THE most helpless group of mature players i have ever seen! i saw people asking for help on quests that involve such difficulty as looking at the quest log and running across town! people looking for parties to kill 20 junk mobs, it was like 2/3 the players couldnt function solo in ANY capacity.

it is 1 of the best looking games out there, but there is no soul in it.

I'm not seeing it on my character sheet.   Is there a minimum level?   I can hide items which is nice.  I get the helmet's armor stats without having to look at the silly thing.  But I gather you can "wear" items but actually have your good armor on and not show?  Or am I not understanding it correctly.

The game will tell you about it when you hit 20...I'm assuming you haven't yet from what you have said.

Ahhhhh  OK then, that explains it.   No, I just hit level 15 last night.   I'm playing about 3 different characters depending on my mood, so I'm slower than most people.

Thanks!   I thought I was just being blonde and didn't see the obvious.
