cuz its a pile of crap and released undone and they lied. i dont see dx10 support working? do u?? and the game engine is bugged i ran it on low and got fps of 15 i put it on high with shadows off i got 3o to 40 so yeah call me a troll but not my fault funcom fucked up.
my buddy runs it on 15fps, with a p4 single core 2ghz piece of crap, an old ati 9800xt piece of crap, built-in everything pieces of crap, his comp is an 8yr old hand-me-down and he runs it on low with 15 fps. lol jesus christ guy, is your comp horrible or what.
As for your post, yes, yes you are right, it was released unfinished and i suppose it could be a pile of crap, having said that, so is every other release. If I admit AoC is a piece of crap and was released unfinished, it is only fair to admit in all honesty that every other release-MMO i've ever played, has been a piece of crap and was released unfinished.
What is your point? do you have a point? is this selective or are you just forgetting to mention the other 95%? lol o---k...
"Sometimes, things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. People are basically good. Honor, courage, virtue mean everything. Power and money, money and power mean nothing. Good always triumphs over evil. Love, True Love Never Dies." Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
he other half? So you guys even believe you are 1 half?
hm this was actually my first post on aoc ever as far as i remember, i didn't even take a side in my post.
i wonder though why you felt more like commenting on the half part instead of the nine headed hydra thingy, cause the first one was pretty sure more accurate than the second.
Dude AoC is awesome I don't even know what you are talking about or like why you are even trying to make a point that doesn't say that.
Bad is good, Baby!
I'm cookin' with gas. I've gotta handful of vertebrae and a headful of mad. Yeah. That's your spinal cord. Baby. Dig it. Who's the man? I'm the man. I'm a bad man. How bad? Real bad. I'm a 12.0 on the 10.0 scale of badness.
So he says to me, 'You wanna be a baaaaad guy?' And I say yeah, baby! I wanna be bad! I SAYS, SURF'S UP, SPACE PONIES! I'M MAKING GRAVY WITHOUT THE LUMPS! Aaaaaa-hahahahaha!
And that is why all the naysayers prove that AoC is the awesomest game that has ever been created or ever will be. Its making gravy without the lumps, I'm telling you that right now.

i doubt anyone will take you seriously with warhammer online in your signature.you are obviously a troll, im looking forward to war too but i dont act like a child bashing all other mmo's that are not war. grow up man.
war will have the same issues aoc is currently experiencing, im sure you will be name calling war when you realize it has bugs too.
People bashing AoC seem to try so hard to convence people other to stay away from it. They can't say it once they gotta keep repeating themself one every thread they can. I'm not talking about this forum I see it on other forums too is like if they get pay to do so. JUST GIVE IT UP MOVE ON STOP CRYING ABOUT $50!
I am really starting to wonder if there is any truth to this. The relentless continued assault on the part of the haters seems to indicate that many of these people are very personally invested in the game's demise...
Definitely makes me wonder if they aren't getting a little something for their efforts.
Don't get me wrong, there are lots of posters who have made very valid points about some of the game's failures and I agree that the game has a long way to go in certain respects before it will be the game a lot of us hope it will be. Many people have fairly weighed the pros and cons of the game and have given what I consider to be fair reviews of the game in its current state, but there are also so many trolls on these forums who act as though it is their personal mission in life to bring Funcom down. I fail to see how it is in any PLAYER's best interest to destroy a potentially great game. It is definitely in the best interest of competitors, however...
For starters, ATi Radeon 9800XT was released late December 2003 so its not even 5 years old and allso it was one of the fastest grafics cards at the time(for gaming that is).
Seconds, Im with Rob_dc84 on this one that alot of people have problems running Age of Conan since I myself have experience in this as well. When its not crashing my display drivers it is almost playable. Every 2~5 minutes the game freezes for like 30 seconds or so. You would think this game would not use so much computing power since the low grafics but no no.. it uses alot. I have tested Age of Conan on all 3 of my computers and so far, only one of them can start the game, if I am lucky that is.
The one computer it starts on have a Geforce 8800GT(512mb). One have Geforce 7900GT TOP(256mb) and my less powerful computer have ATi Radeon X1600(512mb). All of my computers have Dual Core processors and atleast 2gb of memory.
I have played alot of mmo´s in my time and alot of Closed beta and Open Beta test, but never come a cross a game that I have had problem even starting. So this is by far the most buggy game I have played.
The gameplay reminds me of some bad console-game where you just go around and kill everything without carying why, oh wait! Yeah it is gonna be a console-game since its gonna be released to Xbox 360. Maybe that it why they made the gameplay so simple, like diablo? Maybe its just me, but I like to see something new when I play a new game. In my oppinion, we should expect more from new games since its we who put out our money for this entertainment. So why defend a developer? Who can not deliver what they promised? Is it so wrong to have expectations on a new game?
I hope you can excuse my English, its not my native language
I am really starting to wonder if there is any truth to this. The relentless continued assault on the part of the haters seems to indicate that many of these people are very personally invested in the game's demise.
I wish I got payed to bash a game, you can find flaws in any game so that would be easy money.
But on the flip side, you know those totally overzealous people who post constantly on the main forums? (like that guy Protus-AoC.) Those are people who bought shares of Funcom stock, and get hugely annoyed when anyone says anything even remotely negative about their "investment". IMO those people are on the same level as people who get payed to trash a game.
This is true. Believe me, I am just as annoyed by those who act like there are no problems with the game as I am by those who say the sky is falling. This seems like just another form of trolling.
I just tend to think that developers who spend endless hours trying to create a game that we will enjoy at least deserve the benefit of the doubt during the first few months of the game. Releasing an MMORPG is an enormous undertaking and it rarely goes as smoothly as the developers would like. This is why I feel compelled to come to the defense when I see so many trolls trying to destroy the game before it has a chance to succeed.
I have done it with AOC and other games and I probably will the next time it happens. Sometimes the devs get their act together and the game turns out great, other times I eventually end up agreeing with the naysayers... but at least I give it time to develop.
I am really starting to wonder if there is any truth to this. The relentless continued assault on the part of the haters seems to indicate that many of these people are very personally invested in the game's demise.
Viral marketing is a two-way street
I have often wondered if AmazingAvery gets paid by Funcom. Not because he is a fanboy, which he sort of is, but because he is more professional about it.
Pure vitrolic hate or ridiculous crush-like adoration is transparent and unconvincing. Real pro viral marketers are much better at such things.
The best lies are mostly true. Pros know this. That is why I do not put a lot of stock into the "people getting paid for a side" argument a lot of times. Amateur hour is easy to spot.
Not that I think Avery is a paid shill, its just that sometimes I wonder.
And frankly for those people who are making sites with guides and wiki and such even if they are eseentially people with vested interests anyway. Because they want people to use their site. Eitehr for validation or for advertising money. So they often act like paid shills even though they are not directly paid.
So anyone who is an admitted fan/amateur journalist with a focus on a particular game is highly suspect to me due to their vested interest.
Bah. Paid "haters" don't exist. Why on earth would someone PAY for an act which so many are willing (and tickled pink) to do free? It makes more sense to pay for someone to market your game than it does to pay for someone to "hate" another.
Hell, you could feasibly just ASK your playerbase to go trash another game. I'm willing to bet you'd get a nice helping of free work right there.
This "You got paid to trash me" nonsense is just pathetic. As if anyone in a suit is out there throwing money around so foolishly. Don't you people know those guys have golden toilet seats to buy first?
If every basher took a "brake" there'd be alot of cars who wouldn't be able to stop and alot of accidents. Then they can blame you because you told them to do it!
Now to the topic...I'm confident that this happens with every MMO to a degree, and there's just as many people rushing to defend a game as their is to bash it. Trouble is, honest people who just don't like the game get caught in the crossfire, namely by the fanbois. You claim they regurgitate the same things over and over? Well, if you were promoting the game, wouldn't you do the same?
-------------------------------------- A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"
It is called giving feedback. I mean one of the reasons people come to these forums is to learn about the game. I sure as hell wouldn't find it useful to come to a forum that had nothing but fanbois spouting marketing dribble straight from funcom... Nor is the absolute hater that just trashes the game with no real details. However there is plenty of truth on these forums to be found in the discussions. So this thread makes me think of the nazis trying to supress freedom of speach. Do you think people would have a better view of the game if we only allowed supporters of the game to express their opinion?? Will all new people like the game? Or are their maybe some valid points being made about incompleteness, bugs, lies, etc?
Well I don't have problem with people making their little review with why they won't play after the free month and stuff like that. I even welcome review I read a few myself before buying it i bought it like 2week after launch. But then we get the idiots that cry about the $50 and come and start spamming shit like
"oh no is all about the graphic the game suck!" or "the game is not optimise don't buy it!" etc.... I know you seen a lot of quotes like this one around this forum so don't lie.
Yeah but just consider it a counterbalance to the people ranting about the game being the best game on the market, amazing, gonna take wow down, revolutionary, etc... I mean there are people being extreme on both sides. The truth is the game has some good things and some bad things. People need to hear both sides and filter what is obviously hater/fanboi extreme reteric.
So just take it easy say your piece and let other stay theres there are lots of heated opinions on the game by people severely disappointed and there are lots of people who find the game is near perfect.
People bashing AoC seem to try so hard to convence people other to stay away from it. They can't say it once they gotta keep repeating themself one every thread they can. Actually people posting why they don't like the game have no real upside. They are here providing their feedback and have no real upside. However the people I'd be suspicious of are the fanboi type posts or posts trying to attack people saying bad things about the game.
Does funcom employee a group of fanbois to come on these boards and try to squash resistance and provide constant hype? If you were funcom would you pay people to do this?! I mean look at the past couple months. The game was in limited beta and they have provided a lot of hype and it has paid off in spades. They have sold more copies of this game then any other MMORPG in a short period.
Now after facing a ton of problems they are again driving out the hype. If you look they are gonna do an amazing number of revamps in the month of June. I'd bet that their is NO way they will pull off what they are claiming. So are they playing the hype game to get people to sub for one more month??
No if anyone is getting paid it isn't the haters its the fanbois. If I were funcom I'd probably be either paying or giving people free subs to help promote the game. They are clearly very talented at generating hype and grass roots momentum. This would be generally just good marketing. I kinda wonder if all companies do this...

AoC will be a niche game with 200-300k players
If the Devs fix the problems it might cap around 1-2 million.
Why hate on other MMO's i don't get it.
If AoC is fun its fun lets leave it at that.
Oh and who cares about Dx10 Vista blows!!!!!!!!!
