MMOs where you can switch classes / crafts on your main?

MonorojoMonorojo Member UncommonPosts: 411

Be it F2P or P2P, what are the MMOs that do not require you to make 10 different alts to play 10 different classes? I know crafting is more specialized due to the market and such, so I'm not realyl concerned with that aspect. Just interested.

    Neocron.

Although it doesn't really have classes, but is rather skill based. However, you can always reskill, which takes some time and money. This goes for combat as well as crafting.

Horizons/Istaria, you switch class, retain skills from previous class, gain levels in new class but it gets more difficult as your character over all level increases.  Or at least, that is how it was when I played.

SWG you only drop to level 1 when chaning from one of the 3 groups combat-trader-entertainer and once you hit max in a group you will always go back to that proff as max.

Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

You can switch classes in 9 Dragons before level 50 or something like that. Been a while since I played and the level system in that game is rather unique(Its before the Five Dragons teir that you can switch). You just lose your aquired experience for your class skills if you switch but you need to pick new skills for your new class anyways so it's no big penelty.

Nope. It is currently being maintained, supported, and developed actively by a good company called Virtrium LLC. I heard they're even in the black, financially. The game was recently renamed to Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted.

That's wrong sgt frog, once you reach level 75 you're able to add a subclass, you can cancel that subclass at any time and choose another one, you can switch between your chosen classes everytime you want by talking to NPCs in cities. You can add up to 3 subclasses but you have to level your previous one to 75 before, it takes a shitload of time though since your subclass starts at level 40.

actually, with subclasses, once you hit lvl 76 or 78, cant remember. You can change your class to any other one. Once changed, you start at lvl 40 and you relvl using the new class. At anytime you can switch between your original class and your subclass. I think it's a maximum of 3 subclasses also. So yes, in a sense, it is the same thing, after you hit the required lvl, which ever it is.
