Now i was watching the gigantic Q/A for War (good 1 hour long thing) anyway someone was asking about servers and such and the responce was given was they servers will have caps for each side. Now this is a good and bad thing. Good thing is obviously the balance which is something i want but on the same note i want to be able to play with friends and such. Well if a server is full for that side it sounds like im shit out of luck.
Just curiouse if they might take the idea of FF11 for this one and make it so you have a world pass so if it is filled you have to have a friend on the server (or possibly start it when its getting close to full). Cause last thing i need is me on a server and my friends cant get on cause they didnt get going right away. Especialy since i have to convince my gf to get off of wow and grab this .
Just tossing it out there as a possible idea, might not even be a problem, but might as well cover all bases.

The caps are not for characters in the server's database, but for actively playing characters per side. That means if Destruction caps at 2500 (example), no more people from that side will be able to login their chars until some logout from that side. The server might have 20,000 destruction chars on it, but that really doesn't matter. The cap is for playing, logged-in chars at one time.
ah well then nothing to worry then.
I agree it's great for balancing, but it also frightens me a bit. How about the guys who make 6 alts on day one to save names( and obviously they have to be the same faction), will those be counted towards the overall count?
If they create a cap, it better be a dynamic cap. I.E. say the split is 1000/1200, and they axe character creation for group 2. Then it goes 1200/1200, open it up to all characters for a week or so, then reanyalze the position and set a cap from there.
Any other way would simply limit the servers too much.
EDIT - oh, nevermind then.
erm if u join a server and i play for abit , what happens when i log out and want to log in again , and the server is full?? i shouldnt have to wait for some one to log out nor should i have to make another character on another server due to me paying a monthly sub.
That's what's called a "grace period", and may or may not be implemented. I think their use of server/side caps is still very much up in the air.
well mythic allready stated server population... 10,000 on 1 server.. so thats 5000 destruction, and 5000 order..
and in t4 there stating a half of the server fighting at once. so :P big!!!
so what you are paying because you enjoy the game so if too many people are playing create a different character from a different faction on a different server
you WILL have to WAIT but you don't have to make another character this system of a side cap is good and will balance the game out to a certain point... so what if you have to wait five more minutes to get on the server...get a beer take a crap get back you are on...it is that easy
that is what me and my friends are going to do one for order and one for destruction
Check this out all you PVEers..and anyone else for that matter..
WAR is the second coming...
This is 3 days old and real recent stuff...fantastic..

Greetings!
The next phase of this Focus Test will begin soon, but we wanted to introduce you to the dungeon Gunbad.
All players will start with a Rank 20 Template and can adventure in the Greenskin vs. Dwarf areas of The Badlands and Blackfire Pass. Standard quests, RvR, and Public Quests will be available; however, this test will only last for a short time so be sure to check out Gunbad while you can!
Below is a brief introduction explaining the story and what you'll find. Enjoy and see you soon!
Gunbad Introduction
The Story:
Lurking in the far Northwest of the Badlands, the fetid depths of Gunbad lie in wait for inquisitive adventurers such as you. Those brave (or foolish?) enough to enter its dank depths will discover a land quite unlike the surface worlds.
Once a Mourkain place of power, for a thousand years Gunbad has been home to a strange breed of Greenskin. The mushroom crazed forces of the Night Goblins- furtive maniacs clad in black and flecked with spit- gibber and scurry in the darkness. Alone in the gloom their unhinged minds have fashioned all manner of madness, from teetering Goblin cities to pulsating squigs of nightmarish proportions.
Now change has come to the timeless depths. The Age of Reckoning has forced the armies of Order and Destruction to plunge headlong into the reeking dark. The Greenskins seek to break the unruly Night Goblins to their brutish will, beating their brains out until they see sense and join the Waaagh! The Dwarfs meanwhile have a more desperate mission. Gunbad is the sole source of Bitterstone- a key component of the mighty Doomstriker Weapons. They must claim this precious ore and destroy a potential ally to the Waaagh. Still, the prospect of spattering goblin brains whilst underground has cheered more than one Oathbearer, despite the grim tales of the Night Goblin’s insane strength.
How it Works
Gunbad is an open world instanced dungeon. This means all Order players go in one version of the dungeon, whilst all Destruction players go in another.
Gunbad contains three themed wings, each with three PQ’s and an instanced wing boss.
You’ll need to gain enough influence from the PQ’s to access the wing boss. You’ll also need to be in a group. As all the monsters in Gunbad are at least champion level, don’t expect to solo this Dungeon!
Gunbad is best suited to players between level 22 and 30. Each wing has a different ideal level range so you can progress through the content in a natural manner. The West Wing is level 22-23, the East Wing is level 24-25 whilst the South Wing is for levels 26-29.
Once you’ve completed all the wings and taken down each of the wing bosses, you can face the final challenge of Gunbad- the mighty Squig Boss Ard Ta Feed. Mutated by years of exposure to Mourkain power (and the tainted flesh of mushroom gobbling Goblins) Ard to Feed is a two headed nightmare of teeth, claws and vomit.
Multiple Quests will take you into Gunbad, as will the desire for some of the delicious items that can be gained from the PQ’s and Bosses. There are also several unique titles to be unlocked and some hidden puzzles for explorers to collect.
We’ve worked hard on Gunbad and look forward to your feedback on it. Your thoughts on balance, flow and timing are very important. Please take the time to post on the forum threads and help us make Gunbad great.
