Servers and forum down for last 24 hours. Anybody else experiencing?

I must say I've been enjoying this game for the last week or so.
First impression was rubbish and I nearly uninstalled it straight away. You cannot customize your character when creating him, instead you just choose a carbon copy of "fighter" or "wizard" and thats it. Same clothes, hair, as everybody else. I hate being a clone in a sea of clones, just like lineage2. Not off to a good start. I was also stuck in a silly tutorial that i could not bypass and couldn't get into a newbie hunting zone to just level up and check out the game. Bad show, grenado espada.. bad show.
But I gave it a second go, mainly due to my other MMO closing temporarily, and because i spent friggin 5gigabytes of my monthly internet cap on it.
Now I'm hooked.
Gets much better as you go along. I like the minion mobs system. Combat is fast paced and you kill stuff left right and centre. I like the animations/stances and the idea of levelling 3 characters at once. Heck theres even autopilot to take the edge off grinding. Perhaps this game will wear off, but I'm willing to find that out.
Around Friday I had a crash to desktop. I rebooted and tried reconnecting. Nothing. Appears the servers are down. Okay, probably just a scheduled downtime. After 8 or so hours, still down. Nothing on the website to indicate that its down for extended period of time due to major patch/ content upgrade/ hardware upgrade ect. Okay maybe they poorly publicise this stuff. I go to check forum. Forum will not load up. Seems like all their servers are offline. I reinstalled SotNW just to make sure my client isnt damaged (wouldnt explain forums not loading up, but worth a shot). Still same thing.
Yet when I check fansite forums and this forum, i dont see lots of people complaining about servers being offline. Infact, one website (portcoimbra.com i think) indicates that all servers are up. But can i trust the accuracy of that site.. who knows.
Mystery. Shame, this game was just warming up to me. 24 hours is a big downtime, especially not to have publicized it in game chat and on the front page. Anybody know whats going on?

Which version are you playing, though? You call it "Granado Espada", which is technically the name of the game, but the US version uses it as a subtitle or something, and Sword of the New World as its main title.
I also don't think there are any active fansite for the US version, other than perhaps the Wiki. All the ones closed up. Port Coimbra still exists, but no forums or anything.

I just checked, we had no downtime on Friday (intentional or otherwise). When you log in do you get an error? or are you just not seeing a server list? Are you playing the US version (SwordoftheNewWorld.com) or the Singapore version (ge.iahgames.com)?
I want to help you get back in game, just need some more details on why you can't connect.

i downloaded the game for 2 hours. and not 1 but 2 files are curupt i had a look on there support and about 7 other people are complain and at least 3 have now given up on the game. even to read me's are currupt. could this have any thing to do with your severs.

Where did you download from? File corruptions usually occur due to download speeds and connection issues when downloading or a network or file hosting issue at the hosting site. We currently don't host our own client so the issue may be extremely isolated or wide spread.
Currently we only support the 5 websites listed on our download page to download from. We check these for file corruption multiple times a day.

Ok i decided to check this game out "sword of the new world" from the start its been a disaster mainly with installing, i found out how to install tho. (had to change the .exe name a little to match the part names something silly like parts were named SNW2.1.18.. and .exe was named 2118 no . in between numbers and to be honest finding a fix was hard also.. yes i used search in forums still no cigar until i tried different wording in google then i found it)
So its installed and now there is maintenance, ok its happend to me before no worries ill check site to see when it ends... nothing, not a thing on site to say there is maintenance except tuesdays at 2-4pm PST its thursday 8pm now and its still not up WTF?
So i come here and someone is saying he is trying to play from the 13th?? again WTF.. funny thing tho is that there is new news on site about upcoming expansion dated 19th june 2008 at 3pm PST which was like 5 hours ago so is this a joke? HAHA funny that, ok let me in to play now thanx..
Yea seriously what is up with that maintance thing? O and 1 more thing a very good place to announce this stuff is in... announcements... in the forum..
I've been playing for a while as well and had the same problem last monday, the game worked fine and then when I went to play on monday the game wouldn't work, thought the servers were down or something so I left it for a bit, went and tried it today and it just patched itself up and started without a problem.
go try again, see if it works now.

Last night we were up... so I am not sure what you are refering to. I was playing all night on Bristia with no issues.
We did end up taking one world down momentarily (Orpesia) and ultimately doing a full restart, but we have not had any irregular maintenance.
What world are you trying to connect to? What does the client say when you try to log in? Where are you trying to connect from?

Hi, yea i dident actually tell much from that rant above, but when i was trying to Register at site it just kept saying maintenance on all gamersfirst websites try later, i was trying for hours tbh then posted that comment above and straght after tried again and it was up i thought it strange that there was no news about it and that there was news on a different matter dated a few hours before i was trying to register
I could start game and see all servers but just could not register at gamersfirst/sword of the new world website because everytime i pressed Register it just give a little blue message saying all gamersfirst websites are down for maintenance sry for inconvience

1 more thing mate check out the gamershell client The .exe (part 1)it is named different from all the different parts so it would not install, i had to change the name on the .exe to match the other 6 parts basically just add . in between the version numbers.
Well im playing now anyway but if the site was never actually down why was i getting the maintenance screen?
Bear in mind, their ISP is apparently Saavis (sp?) and is just horrible. At times, the lag along that network is almost a second per stop. If you are in Europe and thus have a lot of jumps to get to the server in CA, then when the lag is really bad, you just might not be able to reach them.
They've also had sporadic server trouble the last few days. Orepsia crashed once (I lost some stuff on the market), and I think Illier did too. And it might be on its way to another crash - I just used a mic and it didn't show up, which is a symptom of impending trouble.
