Will Aion be vaporware?
With the release date being pushed back again, for the umptieth time, to 2009, do you think Aion will become vaporware?
The other notion is the split between EU and US servers and no support planned to be able to play on both.
I'm starting to think Aion will have Asian support but will become vaporware in the US/EU.
This game gets pushed back again and again and there is still 0 support for a EU/US beta while every other MMO is being released, this is becoming a joke.

Oh , pushed back you say? The last announcement from Kieron its actualy the first news you are reading about Aion right? When did NcSoft said a specific release date? Can you please be so kind to past us the link? They didn't it and neither now , and regarding with what Kieron said , it was just a estimated date , that's all and not a specific release date.
We ( the ones that actualy read alot about Aion ) knew in a way or other that Aion will be released Q4/2008 or Q1/2009 so this is nothing new.
We better wait for a finished game because I don't want Aion to be released unfinished and become like ... well .. you know the name.
About Asian support , again .. you didn't read enough infos about Aion. Did you know that actualy they have a studio in US for NA customers and one in England for EU ones? No? Oh .. you know now.

The game was supposed to come out in 2007, then it became 2008, now 2009.
No support to play on EU/US servers together.
The game isn't even translated in English yet.
No beta in sight anywhere except korea.
NCsoft has financial dificulties with TR failing.
And now they come tell us the game won't be released befor 2009??
I'm sory if I'm becoming very very sceptical.

It wasnt pushed back again... it was announced for the first time. The dates youre seeing now are the Korean version of the game. As this game's developers are Korean.

LOL where are you getting this idea that it was to be released in 2007? It was little more than a dream in a designers mind back then. Are you getting your release dates of Gamstop.com? I've been watching closely and there has never until now been any indication of a release schedule. NC Soft Korea does not make Vapor Ware. These are about the only real MMO makers in existence.

So a game that showed up for the first time in E3 2006 and that is releasing in 2008 for korea is vaporware? A game that has gone through 2 closed betas with no NDAs, with more than 300 player made videos out is vaporware? A game which company has released already 3 games, published a lot more, with more than 4M customers at this time in their different products around the world, is vaporware?
Don't come with that one here, it's not the place. We are all impatient, but those 2007 dates you say were never confirmed by an official source, this is the first time when we can appreciate the game is getting finished, even tho it looked finished for those who played the first 20 levels during CBT1. We're going to get a jewel and more than 10K players have already witnessed it and they shared it with the whole world via videos and more.

Obviously you plan on just ignoring the truth and what everyone has tried telling you, repeatedly. No one really cares if you believe it is vaperware, and after this i'm sure no one will even take you seriously.

You seriously think a HUGE company in the mmorpg industry is going to turn this into vaporware? Seriously? If you had money to put down you think this is going the way of vaporware?
L3 was supposed to be released too, it became vaporware, TR was supposed to be a huge success and almost bankrupted NCsoft..why would I bet my money on a game when the last 2 failed?

Lee made known to the company’s foreign investors that “the Lineage 3 team has been reset”. The decision was made after “5 days of intense meeting and discussion”, during which it was concluded that the project lead Yonghyun Park(Lineage 3’s Project Manager) would be dismissed and the project itself put on hold. “We will bring together a new team for the project and get it back on track as soon as possible” said Lee, “Aion and other projects will not be affected by this in any way.” An employee at NCsoft added that they are “not sure if the designers that were working on Lineage 3 will remain with the project or if they will be moved to other projects.”

O geez. Did you know what happened with the source code of L3 ? And they didn't even started for good to work at L3 and you are stating that it's vaporware?
They started or they will start to work this year at L3 so again , can you PLEASE leave us alone?

I just have to chuckle at how people throw the term Vaporware around. I've heard AoC, Spore, WAR and others being given the same label as Darkfall and Duke Nukem Forever....and Duke is apparently still there and kicking, kinda.

Well the fact that he says TR almost made ncsoft go bankrupt is pretty damn silly. TR might of been a flop but ncsoft aren't hurting over it. I'm sure richard garriot is in a room somewhere crying though.

TR was made by NC USA. Thats why it failed. The Garret brothers are bad at their jobs. NC Korea doesn't make those kind of mistakes.
As for L3, I wouldn't expect anything close to release until 2011. Of course by then we might be jacking into our games ala The Matrix and playing "F__k Pamela Anderson Online". Things change in this industry and its likely there will be a new mass popularity game type by then.

I don't have much interest in Aion but I really don't think it's gonna be vaporware, especially since the game is already being played, although in a different language.
Games get delayed, especially MMOs. If the game was being developed by some startup company then I might be suspicious of it becoming vaporware, but it's being developed by developers with triple A titles under their belt.
This website cracks me up. If the game hasn't been released, one of the top 5 threads is always "It's vaporware!" If it has been released, it's "This game is failing!"

Wow dude, if you're so against and mad at this game, why don't you just leave these forums and go find another game that is coming out sooner. I for one would wait 2 years for an mmo that is perfect.
