Mac Users: What do you use for Windows XP Gaming?

Rayx0rRayx0r Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 2,902

Im going to be installing windows on my girlfriends Mac.   She wants to use VMware or Parallel so she can stay in her Mac environment.

Ive read a benchmark which reads to me that Parallel has the best performance.  However, Ive read from users on the mac site that Parallel is more unstable than VMware and bootcamp.  Actually, theyve made it sound very unstable.  However, I dont know what theyre doing on their macs

Anyone here have experience with gaming using VMware or Parallel on a mac?  Im curious to hear what sort of experience you had with them before we spend $80 on the wares.

(note: please dont try to explain to me the difference between a PC and mac and why she should purchase a PC.  This is for a secondary computer, we have 2 pc's and 2 macs in the house)

Thanks in advance

    Don't even think about it.

If its for gaming you HAVE to use bootcamp.

Look if its for gaming its BOOTCAMP if its for any other software then parallel or VMware...

im telling you this because with BOOTCAMP you get 100% ram while with the others you get 50% because you are still running MAC OSX and WINDOWS at the same time....its like you can alt-tab and go to windows or MAC...with bootcamp you choose from the beginning which OS you want and can't "alt-tab" to the other (gotta restart)

    Hope this help.

I have played Crysis with bootcamp and works pretty well :)
