Scientists or historians or archeologists or soothsayers or someone claim to have determined the exact day that Greek hero, Odysseus, arrived home to Ithaca from the Trojan War. Supposedly it was April 16, 1178 B.C.

I hope the Greek government gave him an extension for filing his taxes.

Maybe it was declared a holiday, then he would have had an automatic one day extension.
I think all Greek citizens, indeed all taxpayers around the world, could use a 'Triumphantly Butcher Your Wife's Obnoxious Suitors and Reclaim Your Life' Day. I know I sure could. It'd be right up there with Secretary's Day.
I love that story. I have named characters in MMORPG's Ithaca for years. Players often asked me if it was the City in New York ,or the gun company I was alluding to. The miniseries version of Homer's story, released a couple of years ago, with Armand Assanti, was great. I love the part at the end where the jerks who have taken over his palace watch stunned as he, whom they believe to be an old beggar,"threads the needles" ,with a line of stakes, with his old bow, which they weren't even strong enough to use. It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck every time I see it. You can feel the fear in the room.
