Acclaim Games have announced the finalists for the position of Game Director on “Project: Top Secret,” their user generated MMO project.

Los Angeles (June 19, 2008) – Acclaim Games is approaching the final stage of the “Project: Top Secret” game design contest.  “Project: Top Secret” is the brainchild of industry superstar David Perry.  In addition to being the biggest video game project ever, it is the first large-scale user-driven game design project in video game history.

One lucky winner will be chosen this month, and we have determined who the finalists are.  One of these people will receive the top prize, and an unprecedented career boost – the Directorship of a game to be published by Acclaim Games and Executive Produced by David Perry.

Picking our finalists for this amazing contest was not easy.  Out of 60,000 people who signed up, there were certainly hundreds of amazing participants, so we have had to work hard to narrow the field.

Yep another fling at the world of MMO racing, I just don't see the audience they are trying to reach.   If I was an investor, I would avoid this game like the plague.

As to the winner, kind of debatable whether he is winning anything.

Well I just want to say Congratulations to all of the finalists in this contest. It was an amazing project and opportunity for those of us that want to get into the game design & development aspect of gaming.

Yes its going to be a racing MMO, which is why I ended up dropping out of the contest and project. Its not a game I would want to develop or play. This game may actually have a chance to succeed in the F2P market since there are a lot of gamers who enjoy the off the wall MMO genres.

I especially want to Congratulate David Slauenwhite (AnjelusX) for making it as a finalist. He is a very good friend of mine and he has done amazing things on this project. I am rooting for him to win and he definitely deserves it if he does.

Hopefully David Perry or someone else will do something like this again, so those of us who want to create something we know will do well or play will get our chance also.

Sorry not trying to rain on your friend's parade, but you do know this was probably a publicity gimmick, whoever wins will most probably be strictly a figurehead at best.  Hope I am wrong for your friends sake.
