I want a Command & Conquer MMOFPS ala PlanetSide. Blizzard would do well to do the same with StarCraft (PlanetSide-esque MMOFPS). New cash cow that won't have to compete with WoW.
I'd be rather pleased to see some developers take a stab at reincarnating and revitalizing DAoC and Ultima Online. Would also be neat to see a revamped Shadowbane...
Oh and /agree with the poster that mentioned the Dark Tower series, would love to see that as well.
I agree that it would be nice to see less re-hashed series made into games as it would leave more room for creativity and unhindered development. That's why I would love to see an honest to god sandbox MMO produced that is not the sludgepit that is SecondLife. Could be possible.
I would like to see a MMO based of idea in the book Dies the FIre where one day something happens and the rules of chemistry are altered. Things such as gunpowder and machinery no longer work as they used to and it is all about survival and being thrown back in the dark ages.
Or maybe a MMO with Humans vs Weres vs Vampires based off the Vampire$ book by John Steakley. Everyone starts as human but you always have the chance of being infected in combat. You could always take a cure to stop the infection or take your chances. Once you have been changed this character can never go back to human but now opens the "race" as a new selection at character creation.
Quite a few, but Fantasy dominates! Every MMO that comes out that is not fantasy doesn't do as well! Besides Fallen Earth which will be close, I'd love to see a Fallout MMO, though Fallout III with have to suffice till that day and its coming this fall! YAY!
A enders game themed MMO. Sci-fi, space ships, dog fights, own your on cruisers (like player housing or guild cities) be able to actually walk around in your ship...First person style. Explore planets first person etc...
Would be a MMOFPS, that requires twitch skill to survive, fast paced combat...however items/upgrades would be there as well.
Planetside for instance did amazing things with a MMOFPS, now only if they could expand on this, you would have a successful game.
I really loved the SWG Jump to light speed first person ships.
I think it would be great to see a Mofia style MMO where they could have crime familys instead of guilds. A game where your crime family could control different cities and the PVP would be great. Imagine doing a drive by on a rival crime familys turf or raiding a rival's headquarters.
No level system just a skill based system that plays kind of like a FPS no easy mode target system where you target them and spam a button till they die. You would actually have to aim at them while they shoot back. I think that a big shootout in the middle of the city would make for a great PVP experience.
I mean really I cant think of any Mafia movies I didnt like and hey who does not wanna be a tough guy on the internet.
Playing- Guild Wars 2, SWTOR SWTOR Referral Link Get a free Server Transfer and lots of other free stuff for your SWTOR account! Works for both new and previous players.
I would like a better FF11 MMO Diablo MMO(ben said so many times i know) World of Darkness MMO(ccp said they are planning on making one sometime) Star Trek MMO(I still have faith in Perpetual) Marvel/DC Comics(again rumors about it) Harry potter(Richard Garriotts company was going to but when EA canncelled he resigned and went to ncsoft and Tabula Rasa was born) Buffy/Angel(probally would be very difficult to do) All i could think of, and if u didnt notice i love mmos based of well known IPs (oh yeah and unforgotten quest, anyone?)
i would really love an old western where you could run your own towns are the sheriff and search out wanted men or play as an native american and battle settlers or play as an outlaw
so a GUN MMO just think about it
Ok this would be really cool, and with some Native American lore, maybe have shapeshifting or whatever you could have a mild magic system. It could have faction based PvP, outlaw faction, railroad faction, yankee, rebel, different native tribes etc.. Plus with their being so many different climates in the USA, it wouldnt have to be all desert. The northwest, california, the grand canyon, florida etc..
It wouldnt have to be a FPS either, the guns in those days weren't necessarily very relliable and took a bit of time to load (depending on which era) which could be on the same level as a Bow.
Lets do it!, we just need 50 million and a reliable MMORPG studio... probably easier to get the 50 million
I'd like to see an MMO where it takes place in a kind of Heaven/Hell struggle kind of thing. I'd think you could start off as an angel or a demon and you'd fight monsters between the two places to level up and stuff. It'd be awesome, I suppose.
Or maybe for this you start off between heaven and hell (where you fight the monsters) in a town called Limbo and you get to choose if you wanna be an angel or a demon and then go there and do some quests then get to fight demons and stuff.
How abought a Zombie mmo or a great mmo would be The Dark Tower base off of stephans kings books there great make a good western setting with some fantasy and sci fi
Zombie mmo gets my vote. Also Rifts or old Mechwarrior. Of, to get really old school, Logans Run.
A good original fantasy mmo- fantasy allows for the best RP element (mmoRPG) than any other genre IMO
Mafia MMORPG/FPS could be good if the PvP is done right
A good Sci-Fi MMO - I'm counting on you Bioware
Most of all a game that innovates like making migrating NPCs, huge battles for raids (200 PCs vs 600 NPCs) kind of thing, environmental warfare like setting the forest on fire if an enemy guild is marching through it, good diplomacy system, or player/guild base building and warfare done like never before.

I would like to see an MMO that was a cross between EVE Online and FreeSpace 2.
Liscenced fun:
Star Trek MMO
DC Universe MMO
Heroes (NBC) MMO
Specifics:
I'd like to see consequences to actions in my next MMO.
I'd like to see games balanced by gradually changing enemy AI, numbers and environments, not by sweeping numbers changes.
I'd like to see PvP and PvE integrate seamlessly. I know, but that's what I want.
The Illusion of Choice

Now i know this will only be in my dreams.....
Uhh... what?
Imagine fancypants man online that would rule
like a fps true action like flips wast slashine with ure sword oh
Developers should print this out and presto, they have hours and hours of brainstorming done, directly from their audiences mouth.
POKEMON MMO
MECH MMO done well
STARCRAFT MMO
ULTIMA ONLINE REMAKE
RTS MMO
Good ideas by a lot of people btw!

No doubt on a better FFXI MMO and the Diablo MMO.

STAR WARS GALAXY
Hmm, SWG and SWG
Also, SWG
Oh, and Warhammer 40,000, also known as Warhammer 40K...but done like SWG Pre-CU was, minus the bugs and SOE can have no involvement.
Zombie mmo gets my vote. Also Rifts or old Mechwarrior. Of, to get really old school, Logans Run.
Now i've another idea.
Tales of Symphonia RP. Totally.
I would love to see a real seemless Forgotten Realms world with hardcore AD&D rules,
Great novels I have read are always fun to think of for an MMORPG such as:
Malazan Fallen Online - Steven Eriikson
The Wheel of Time Online - Robert Jordan
Song of Ice and Fire Online - George RR Martin
Any of those would be freakin awesome
Bioware/Lucas arts releasing Knights of The Old Republic Online
SHOHADAKU
The World MMO like the one from .hack anime would be the best IMO.
just like everyone else, i would be uber excited to see a KOTOR or Elder Scrolls MMO (both i think are inevitable)
I would REALLY like to see MMOs based on some of my other (and lesser known) favorite console Rpg's.
Skies of Arcadia
Suikoden
Dragon Quest
or Star Ocean.
I could probably think of a whole lot more, but these would intrigue me most.
could be cool...through all of the tales games they've definitely got enough lore and some huge worlds
A good original fantasy mmo- fantasy allows for the best RP element (mmoRPG) than any other genre IMO

Earthrise to hurry up and get out. or another kick ass MMOFPS with all the goodies.
Played: WoW, CoX, SWG, Eve Online, DCUO, Rift
Playing: SW:TOR
Elder Scrolls. No need to say more.
Hedonismbot: Your latest performance was as delectable as dipping my bottom over and over into a bath of the silkiest oils and creams.
Buck Rogers for a space MMO. Ships and phaser combat
A Last Man Standing still Western MMO (Bruce Willis's best movie btw)
Any fantasy game that has huge battles and lots of PvP (praying WAR delivers as promised)
