Ok so I'm looking to buy a pre built Dell desktop over the internet. I was wondering wich would be better. And if I should exchange some parts of the computer to make it better. Please keep in mind that I am on a budget (not set), but I want it to be worth it and not going over board...

Computer 1 : XPS 730

Price: 1,699$

Computer 2: XPS 630

Price: 1,260$

So if any changed can be mage to this that will make a signifcant difference to my game play I would deffinetly be interested to hear out your input. I would love to run smoothly AoC (just as an exemple of how well I want it to run). Also, if you think these computers are complete rubish, please post a link to other computers that might interest me.

Thanks alot for your time :D

Ps. This is a dupe thread that I did in off-topic, posted here just in case I could catch a wider population.

    Your paying $400 more on the first computer for less than $200 worth of extra.  The 2nd option is the better choice.  The 2nd option also has more and better options.  Here is what I would change:

    • Q6600-> E8400 (It will run games better) +$0
    • Black Bezel Chassis-> Red Bezel Chassis (Black cases are a little overused) +$0
    • 2 GB DDR2 667mhz-> 4 GB DDR2 667mhz (why they charging $400 more for 800mhz memory)+$100  Also it is probably a better idea to do this yourself.  Not sure how computer savvy you are, but replacing memory dimms is pretty easy.

    I was also thinking of exchanging the RAMof my XPS630 for :

    4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 4 DIMMs

    big difference?

    If you can install HDD, I recommend getting 2 addition Hard Drives.  You can get some 250 GB ones for about $60/each.  With this you make 2 new partitions.  1 for storage, and 1 for applications.  The advantage is mainly in stability and also a small performance increase.
