    As I previously stated..

People found a way to justify their actions thru funcoms fault.

Do you actually think the game mechanics of the game was designed to do REPEATABLE QUESTS to get level 80? Come on, you seem like a smart guy..

The truth is.. Funcom is a piece of shit company that never can produce in time to keep subs. AO was a disaster, and it seems they haven't learned anything in the past 4 years or so.
Feel free to flame, but after getting 2 characters to 80.. having nothing to do essentially but PVE raid on a PVP server in a game that was originally supposed to be PVP focused, myself and our 20ish guild members have decided that FUNCOM has miserably failed to provide any sort of worthwhile PVP experience.
On top of this.. the patches every 4 days where they essentially retool entire classes make the game unbearable to play. Everything that had been patched until now was never properly tested.. and should have been in  beta. People will say. blah blah GG you.. goodbye, we dont need you.. or just wait, it will be good in a few months. My response to this is, NO. Just plain NO. PvP systems are being revamped as we speak to make them Karma based and more carebear gear grindish than ever. AOC failed the second it decided that PVE was important enough to start changing classes based on PVE balance. It takes 3 days played to get a char to 80.. in other words.. no one gives a fuck about lvling balance. Killing mass mobs is easy so stop balancing classes b/c of their ability to kill mobs. Balance should have been PvP oreiented which is obviously not the case since almost all balances being made were to chars that they deemed OP in pve. Single target DPS, especially by classes that sucked in PVE were left in tact, bugged as hell. In a PVP game, PVP guilds decide on spec groups in order to roll around together. You cant make spec groups when every four days you have to shit yourself wondering what AOC is going to patch to radically change everything that you do.
GG Funcom. You actually made the game fail with your shitty patches. I can honestly say that if you had left the game as it was when it released... and focused only on adding end game PVP content ( as of now, they've fixed dungeons.. but what have they done with seiges. NOTHING. they added like what 1 NPC. This is after they acknowledged how important PVP is to them in that bullshit letter)
    What have i learned?
Never ever ever play a FUNCOM game again. Id rather play crap ass Korean grind games with 0 content that at least focus around PVP.

Back to Shadowbane.. and back to waiting for Warhammer.

I think it's ridiculous the sort of backlash this guy gets for posting his legitimate complaints about the game.I'm gonna start by saying i too have two level 80 characters in the game, and it is in fact RETARDEDLY easy to level in the game.

I had my first character to 50(barbarian) by the 3rd day of early access, and yes i have a life outside of games.

The first one i leveled to 80 with my core group, and the second one (assassin) i leveled helping get my guild mates to max level...i'd also like to say,i dont know what game some of you are playing when you say  that this guy must be exploiting to reach level cap in this game. The majority of the server that i play on are level capped...and thats when the true flaws in this game start to become apparent.

All of the hype and features are no where in sight, there is no immersion.Level an alt and you get to play through the same 3 exciting zones...and there is only ONE zone in the game to achieve max level in.The crafting system is a joke.Factor in all this, and add that to  the fact game is just grossly riddled with bugs, and that they are actually tweaking classes at this stage of the game instead of working on client stability, and not working on some of the major game breaking issues is just mind boggling.

Overworld pvp consists of either mindlessly ganking,or fighting over control over the best grind spots in the game so your guild can progress.PvP minigames are non existant. Two percent of the population has maybe delved into the nightmare that is siege warfare, and there is no risk/reward or point to pvp at all, when you can simply change instances to avoid people...and when it's as easy as picking a different ressurection pad to avoid the conflicts.

Flame me if you like i dont care,i've been a long time reader of these forums, and i've played MMO's since The realm, meridian 59,UO...but it's rare that i see something that actually pisses me off enough to post.I have been a long time follower of the game, and an avid fan.But it's very hard to have faith,or follow with blind devotion when the flaws in the game are so tremedous.

I wasn't lashing at the OP for his lifestyle choice. A couple of weekends, I've done 12 hour stints in the game myself. What I was referencing was the fact that in his mad rush to get two characters up to 80, he missed the game. He has confirmed this both with his comment about the leveling portion not being the "real" game, and the repeatable quests that he used to bypass the rest of the content. That one was a problem even EQ suffered from for a while.

I have a level 36 character, and a level 30 character after one month of play. I go out of my way to do every quest I come across, to follow every storyline. I'm in no rush to get to 80. Why should I be? There's so much to do before then. So many people to meet. So many things to see and experience.

I did the same thing with EQ. Created my character several days after launch in April 1999. A year later, on the day before the first expansion, Kunark, I finally dinged at level 50. And everybody at that point was screaming about endgame content missing too. Two planes with boss mobs that only spawned once a week. Only one dungeon area (Lower Guk) catering to the level 35-50 crowd, and thousands of players jammed into it so much that you could walk (not run) from the beginning of the zone to the King Room at the end and not encounter a single mob the entire way.

This game is most definitely not garbage. It's not complete, as others have stated. No MMORPG I've ever seen was. Perhaps I can handle it better because I'm an SWG veteran that suffered a game that was far more incomplete than this one at launch, followed by two massive changes that turned professions and classes and equipment and PvP and everything else on their heads in a way that nobody in AoC has even come close to suffering.

The problems with this game are not new, and they're not going to go away in the next game that comes out either. Or the one after that. This has been standard operating procedure since at least EQ (I never played UO, so I can't say with that one). Things will always get added in later, since the majority of players aren't actually going to be in that mad rush to reach the end. They figure they have time, and they ALWAYS underestimate the abilities of certain players to get max level.

Anyway, OP, you go back and enjoy Shadowbane, and I wish you luck in finding a suitable game for yourself sometime in the future.

i've been playing since day one,and i got one guy up to level 50.
you might be mistaken a hooker for true love here bubba........

There was a exploit early into AoC and ppl and some got there characters to level 80 in like 3 to 5 days. Funcom has resolved that issue, but I dont think everyone was caught or they found a way to justify their actions.

There were a few guilds that bragged on getting to 80, however I dont think they play anymore and are probably haters of the game now.

3-5 days? The problem was with repeatable quests.. No it wasnt an exploit.. repeatable quests were just giving way too much XP. Whats funny is that those people :cough :cough Ebonlore.. had their chars to 80 in day 1.  But if you bother to read youd see that the lvling done was legit.

Im sure it was 'legit' per-se, but I believe this is probably the issue at hand. Although I am sure it is all FunCom's fault and of no fault of your own, I doubt this will remain in-game .. if it hasn't already been removed. The simple fact (imho -- given the conversation in this thread to date) is that you have fallen victim to an unintended abberration in the game which allowed you to burn through the content way quicker than Funcom would have liked.

Fault and emotion aside, the vast majority of the paying community will have to catch up before FunCom addresses issues you are likely to be concerned about at lv80 x2

I live in Tokyo. Game didnt come out here until 1 day after early start. By that time the xp had already been dropped in FOTD on the repeatables. I in fact never touched a repeatable quest until Keshatta. I havent fallen victim to anything unintened. I honestly believe that everything we are dealing with now was very much intended and very much forseen by FC.. they just didint give a shit. Making money was their biggest priority, and then using that money to fix things Slowly later on was their initial plan.
