Text based RPG's. They leave more to the imagination
Free to play games of free trials before you buy. Dont throw your money away on games your not gonna like.
I'd recommend Pong, but Ping has campin' him for a while now.

yah there are free trials, I highly recommend you try it out atleaed. Alot of people hate it, but alot of people love it. Its up to you.

gonna need some things of what ya like,
Im gonna list a few greats of generas
FPS- Half-life 2 (great story,great gameplay, buy the orange box is prty much 5 games,Portal being a invovative puzzle game, Team fortress 2 a class based Multiplayer shooter, Half-life 2 with episodes 1 and 2_
RTS- Dawn of WAR, great RTS game and with plenty of expansions to keep adding more, its not like warcraft 3 with the many mods, this is just a good RAW RTS
MMORPG- So many, depends on your taste. Im personaly waiting for WAR
RPG- i duno i dont play normal RPGS normaly

Guild Wars if you like MMOs, which you should do if you came to this forum and decided to register... Otherwise Mass Effect seems to be quite good, I've not played it yet but I'm definitely going to. Some older games I would recommend are Zelda:A Link to the Past, Fallout 2 and Megaman.
