Hey. Yeppers. I saw your quit post as well. I quit for basically the same reasons, yet i cant stop checking the forums out. Maybe they shutdown the forums to prevent any more hatred on it. lol
Hmm... i fear to ask what a Vanguard player would be doing on AoC forum... but if you do play AoC is another story...

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

Not surprised. The game has been down most of the day, and they've delayed bringing it back up twice already. The launcher says it'll be up at 4:30 EDT. That was nearly a half hour ago and it's still down.
Now the forums crash. Funcom is a joke.
AOC forums have proved extremely addictive;
- the breathless cheers as early patches smoothed everything out better than anyone had hoped,
- the delighted early gameplay discussion, laughing at the merchants of doom,
-the souring as content disappeared in the 50s,
-the inevitable anger over class balances,
-the persistent failure to fix basic gameplay issues
- discoveries such as 'female melee toons are 25% worse than males' with no comment for days
- the striking deterioration in performance with each recent patch
- the confusion as Funcom swung from one game design decision to another with no information (scaling grey mobs anyone?)
- the disastrous first battlekeep siege
- a classic lack of any useful communication
- the exponential rise of forum trolls, forum moderation, and complaints at moderation
- the angry implosion of the forum community
- the continued failure to introduce promised content (drunken brawls, dx 10? etc)
- the patch that has been delayed hour after hour
- the crash of the forums altogether
Now that's what I call a great narrative! What lies next in store? Stay tuned!
It's all fun. In game out of game. Well out of game is way more fun at the moment. You missed the bestest thread ever this morning on the offical forums about some girl that had left her boyfriend becaue he played to much AoC. It was funny. I did meet a lot of new guys on that thread. Robert, Sean, Cory just to name a few. ^_^

Is it any wonder after the extend the DT of this horrid patch o'nerfage to 8pm Eastern? heheh
Honestly if the patch is this much of a problem they should have postponed it's deployment until Monday so they get their act together and do it right.

the fact that they cant keep their forums up is revealing.
Funcom havent played the bills.
It's crazy really. I love the game, but hate the company. They're rude and arrogant, and they have no clue how to communicate and interact with their player base. As much as I like this game, I can easily see myself being pulled away as soon as something else comes out with decent graphics, fun gameplay, and a customer oriented company. Funcom makes SOE look good.
Antone else get the impression, they employ a really small staff and are based in a shed?
How about people asking for a forum link to the Mannanan subforum for about *a month*? Instead, it's been left to the players to post a thread with the link in it and bump it up once in a while.
I have come to the conclusion that Funcom just doesn't care about its forums, except when the time comes to censor them.
It's all about bathroom breaks. Their lone forum mod cannot stem the tide of pissed off posts and still take care of a simple bio break. So their answer is to take the forums down. Otherwise there would be hours worth of posts to lock/ delete and users to ban in order to keep their forums looking shiny and happy. Apparently this time they of them had to take quite a dump as they have been down for a long time.
