Norway Ombudsman Info for filing a complaint concerning Funcom

Whining about how bad the game is and how bad the Funcom customer service is accomplishes nothing in all honesty.

I emailed and had a pleasant conversation with an Ombudsman in Norway who stated that I was not the first who had written them about Funcom and they were aware of the companies reputation. 

If you wish your unhappiness to be  known use official channels. And yes they take complaints from other countries seriously.

      Good advice. People have to be willing to go further than just posting complaints on boards or companies such as this get by with continuing to operate in this manner.

    Maybe you should read the "term and conditions" to start with ... when you find anything valuable to use against them, come back here and we could discuss it :)

    Note that I hightly doubt you find anything ...

     

     

    Once you realize it's going to be difficult, you may ask yourself if their "term and conditions" are legit or not ... in such case ask yourself why Blizzard/WoW never had any legit issue of this kind when they had lotsa issue after release ...

    This is just a game, one that you are not forced to play. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to input your account information to pay FunCom 15.00 a month to play. You did this of your own free will. Now if you don't like the game or the CS then all you have to do is exercise your free will and cancel the account and not pay anything anymore.

    Something that all you whiners seem to forget from mmo to mmo is that they all have crappy starts, they are all loaded with bugs and imbalances amongst the classes and there is frequent downtime to patch things up. I have yet to be in a single mmo that didn't have startup problems and or bad customer service.

    I have news for the WAR fanbois (term everyone else uses). If you think that for one moment that WAR will be flawless and classes will be balanced and server and customer service will be exemplary then you are delusional. I predict WAR will have the same people complaining here doing so there.

    They have had a shitty record over the ~6 yrs I've dealt with them.  Not just with the AoC game, but AO as well.  So you cannot just say they are just having release problems.  They have a track record for sucking.

     

    Nothing legally wrong in that essence, but maybe enough to warrant an investigation via one of the agencies if enough people complain.  Which might spike FC to care for their customers a bit more.  But I doubt that as well.

    If this is serious, where the hell were you people when SWG went bad, or when Tabula Rasa was launched? Or Vanguard? or a plethora of other games that don't even compare to AoC? If you don't like how Funcom did things, the best way to make them listen is with your wallet. Don't play the game.

    On that note, if you see nothing has changed that means you are a minority opinion and many others ARE playing the game.

    Individuals who get shoddy merchandise should not (and intelligent people know this) be expected to be pleased or happy just because some eager easily pleased consumer tells them to.

     

    If you don't like the thread don't read it, and if you have no issue with the game don't complain. It is not your business nor concern if other people choose to complain or inform others of their displeasure with a product.  It is in fact called being a responsible consumer.

     

    Now that you have been taught something, you are dismissed and should head onto AoC and login.  Oh wait you can't because the programmers screwed up the patch and much of the rest of the game worse than a tech school dropout would have.

    And seriously nothing probably will be done; however it is more productive than compaining on a board hurling insults at one another. 

    And you are right no one forced me to pay 15$ a month, which is why I'm not going to be.  But I will be damned if I sit by and let the 50$ I wasted on the orginal purchase not be met with some displeasure and if you don't like that, too bad.

    This is actually a great find OP, thanks for the post.  If AoC/AO customers wanted to put the screws to FunCom, I am guessing this is the best place to start.

    At the top of the site is a little flag button that shows some of the sites content in english, click it ...  than look on the left and click on Marketing Conrol Act,  read it, I think you can probably see where FunCom has potentialy violated more than one of the Norwegian Consumer Protection Laws (chapter 1 sections 2 and 3.) On the top right is a button  "kontact oss",  there is an e-mail address listed in that information.

    Ok so at best they get Funcom banned in Norway...which Funcom would probably give out a collective :sadface: to. Boohoohoo. Then it dawns on them "hey we still have America, and America protects our rights to push out crappy half assed merchandise and collect large sums of money for it" then they'll all go out and get drunk and bang high class call girls and be happy again.

    Worst case nobody ends up giving a damn about you or your complaints and you rot in mediocrity your whole life moving from MMO to MMO in a perpetual state of disapointment and in all likelyhood die alone.

    In either case Funcom is the winnar bcuz they have ur monies and this is america babies!

    Probably true. But then it isn't your worry or concern if we waste our time writing a simple email or letter.  And at least we can suffer under the delusion that someone may be listening to our complaint. So stop wrecking  my delusion, it's free and doesn't crash or need patching.

    No it isnt my concern I just wanted to make a post were I reference "call girls" because internet pron just isnt doing it for me right now. I heard they have pretty hot call girls in Norway?

    This is going too far (I think).

    The market itself will take care of this, I am sure. Bad developped products won't last long after the initial launch.

    A game is not an expensive car or computer. It is just 50 bucks of easy spending.

    I pity the guys though who upgraded their computers for 400 dollars or more just to play the newest hype.

    But who should be more blamed? FunCom for delivering a bugged and underdevelopped Beta  game or the internet review sites who pushed it with scores of 90% and beyond in the hope of reactiviting the dying PC game market  and having an extra paid banner?

    In the end the PC gaming industry is set back as a whole with each new Vanguard, tabula rasa, conan game launched. Fanboys just don't get this....
