Service Notice Email for Telon Rides On Reactivation
This message is to inform you that your Vanguard: Saga of Heroes account has been reactivated for a limited time*. Between June 26, 2008 at 12:01AM and July 31, 2008 at 11:59PM your account will be re-activated and you will be able to log-in and experience all that Vanguard: Saga of Heroes has to offer. Vanguard: Saga of Heroes has undergone many game changing updates and we are offering all former account holders a chance to play the game for FREE for a limited time.
Your account has been reactivated; simply launch the game software and log in to play Vanguard: Saga of Heroes until July 31, 2008 at 11:59PM PDT for free.
Some people have claimed that they never bought the game and still got the offer, they just had an account created from beta. So might want to check your account.

It appears SOE is just trying to get players back to their MMO's. Former players of EQII can play free until August 1st.
I was in the beta, but could not get Vanguard to run on my box at all.
So I never actualy played the game.
But, I got a reactivation notice today in my email saying I had the whole month of July free.
Too bad I deleted the whole shebang from my HD over a year ago...
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Pretty much the same for me.
Played the beta for a while,had to turn everything,and i mean every setting to the lowest..looked like crap like that and didn't play much better.Never bought the game,got the free play notice today.
Heh..if i had a way to install it now without actually buying it i would give it a shot since i've up-graded the computer.
You can dl client form VG site , you got all info in VG forums , i was in beta only also but i definietly will dl and check it out in this weekend
I got the email too. I was all "Noooooooo! Get away from me with that diseased crap!! I'm never going back!!! You can't make me!!!!"
I then sent an email back telling SoE to never again email me with Vanguard crap ever again.

Wouldn't play that game for free, I got 60 days free and the new expension for free on EQ2 and played 5 mins and realised why I didn't like the game again. As soon as I download Vanguard again I'll see the character models and quit so nah.........

Talking about SWG much?
If you like PvE, then better test the game in its current state.
Even if you have some political or psychological intentions to hate VG/SOE.
You will at least know, what you are talking about.
MMORPGs are different from most game genres, because most players want something they can sink their teeth into, and play for more than a month or two. You don't usually get an MMORPG so you can "beat the game" in a month or two, and then get something else. You might play something like an online FPS for more than a month or two but that's still different game play. You log on, shoot some people, get shot, log off. You don't really get that involved in your "character" because there is no "character" it's just you wiggling and clicking your mouse and keyboard.
Which is why I don't usually go back to an MMORPG. Do I want to see if they've fixed up Vanguard now? No. I played the beta, and it was absolute crappiness, and I don't care if it's all milk and honey now. You had your chance, and I'm moving on. Maybe it's great now, but why start from scratch in a game already a year old, when WAR should be out in a couple of months?
I"d rather just wait, and see if WAR is any good.
If Vanguard is new and improved, more power to them, and I hope they get lots of subs, but I'm moving forward already.
I was in the beta as well. Before that, I was really hyped about the game and actually preordered the collectors edition. But then I played the game. I give Beta phases alot of room. It wasn't glitches or anything, and I couldn't say exactly what I disliked about the game. It just wasn't fun.
I then cancelled my preorder.
But hey, if I can play a game for free for a month, I'll certainly try it out.
VG is by far the best MMORPG out right now.. i suggest anyone who has this opportunity take it and try it out..
