FC share price going down the toilet

ichart.europe.yahoo.com/c/3m/f/funcom.ol

Seems like the flood of cancellations from bugs/missing content and blatant marketing lies are taking their toll. FC share price has almost halved in just a few weeks.

In case you're haven't already cancelled, well pretty soon they won't have enough money left to pay people to fix this broken game. I'm sure it won't stop them from making more false promises though...

not to the point of losing almost half their value over a period of 2-3 weeks. shareholders have seen the rapidly falling subscriber numbers and are bailing out. share prices don't lie, but AoC fanbois and FC do.

And the bigger picture over a year:

    6month period:

hardly going down the pan, but you can believe if it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Then again we have EA trading in Germany doing worse:

    SWEET!

I hate to see a good game company tank, but this isn'ta  good game compnay.  They ripped off gamers with Anarchy Online, then they ripped us off again with AoC.  It's good to see there is some justice in this world.

LOL, looks like a lot of profit taking. I bet you people with  stock options are pissed....I bet the devs for sure.

The picture over a year means nothing. All it means is that it went up when Funcom hyped and lied through their noses about AoC. As soon as it was released, people saw the truth, and the stocks reflected that.

i like how avery spun it..very classy....put the 1 year analysis of funcom adjacent to the monthly analysis of EA .... very clever

Actually there was not a 6 month option for EA but its easy to read the dates you know.

Stocks over a year has everything to do with it - over this year its still higher today than it has been over the first 5 months..

Some people really need a kick in the nuts on this thread.

What I see on the Funcom stock is alot of volume and then the drop which tells me that some investors cashed out while the stock was high which contributes to its devaluing (lets not also forget the general downtown in stocks in general). Im sure we will get some subscription numbers soon enough people. Yes I have put AoC on the shelf for the time being while they get some more patches in, but it is not a bad game at all. Its quite fun and looks to have a bright future!

Btw... nice to see you are still on your anti-war kick Avery. It must burn your britches that your guild has a WAR component since you are taking alot of stabs at EA and WAR (although you do try to cleverly cover them up). You need to stop stooping so low Avery...I used to respect you, but you are starting to look more and more just like another rabid fanboy....

    Cheers!

Well these forums seem to be composed of WAR fanboi's who say they played the game when all they do really is just troll the most stupidest topics ever. This is the first game that I have seen that people just pick at every tiny thing the funcom does. There is 70 topics composed of 11 different people just bashing every damn aspect of this game.  Now people are bashing about the stock? I mean, really, that is a new record of stupidity there.

Like Gamers, Investors get excited and do all sorts of speculating prior to releases.  I'm not surprised at all that Funcom's stock increased leading up to the release of AoC.  While we can spin why the stock is tanking, I do believe most of the issue here is AoC's poor performance.  Note that's poor performance relative to expectations.

Geez, talk about spin doctors... what the hell does a yearly stock index mean, when the work of many years (AOC that is) has been released a couple of weeks ago :)

    Yea - nothing. Correct.

What's after the release, that counts only.... :(

So yes I have hit cancel for now.. but I mean so it looks basicly like..

Relatively in April and May it was worth as much as it is now... (with higher spikes randomly between may and the current time).

But worth more than it was in January or February..

As opposed to GM stock.. which is worth less than it was in 1955...  (edited:  Um yes that was 53 years ago..)

I think I must be missing a point?

Do you EVER have ANY constructive posts on these boards? Every time I see you post here, it's always "please please don't hurt my pet game, bad, bad people, YOU!".

    It's getting a bit pathetic :(

If you look over a full year, you can see that the activity on the share start april 08 and then someone sold a lot around the 16th of June.

Obviously, someone trying to make a lot of money in the hope that the title go high up just after the release.

The title should now drop back to its standard value of 25 and then it will start to go up again

Gonna have to wait longer than one month and half to know if the game is a winner or a loser ...

NV actually sold (or put on the market) 4,000,000 funcom shares a few weeks ago. In need of a cash injection most likely.

They sold them when the stock was high, a simple ooh! grab the money transaction.  At that point the stock was at over 47.  This is the up to date picture http://www.oslobors.no/ob/aksje_kursutvikling?p_instrid=ticker.ose.FUNCOM&menu2show=1.1.2.1.&p_period=1MON

and not to upset Avery here is the 12 month graph http://www.oslobors.no/ob/aksje_kursutvikling?p_instrid=ticker.ose.FUNCOM&menu2show=1.1.2.1.&p_period=1YEAR

No matter how you look at it FC shares are heading south.

And:  Torleif Ahlsand, the Chairman of the Supervisory

Board of Funcom N.V., is a General Partner of

    Northzone Ventures.

They have cut their holding in Funcom from 17.9% to 10.3%, read into that what you will but the chairman of Funcom's supervisory board should know a few things about the real situation right?

I am so glad i have the wise polocy of not buying a new MMO till its at least 6 months old [in retail].

As tedious Funcom hate threads go, this one isn't even original.

In case the OP hadn't noticed, we are in the middle of what is hopefully a short lived global financial crisis.

Once you also allow for the typical stock market speculation used on any company trying to launch a new product, this thread seems like nothing more than another sad attempt at troll wish fulfilment.

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

Nice to see someone speaking about this rationally.  VMP is right, there was a lot of short-selling going on right after the launch.  The anticipation and hype surrounding the launch inflated Funcom's stock, and brokers cashed out shortly after launch.

Given the fact that their stock is still higher on average, Funcom shareholders shouldn't be too worried, and neither should Funcom.  As long as AoC is a performing asset for FC, don't expect any massive sell-offs.
